POKE’S REALISTIC HOF 12 MIN SLIDERS VERSION 1.

NEW VER 3.1 AS OF 8/4/14 10:06 PM EST

    POKE'S REALISTIC HOF SLIDERS

    WARNING REALISM MAY OCCUR

This update makes the game feel the closest I've come to so far as the real NBA. No longer will you score at will with your favorite player unless he is of course, LeBron James or KD. Players skills now are more important than ever. Good shot selection is vital. Scoring droughts are now possible. Players will fatigue causing you to make crucial coaching decisions and more!

    Replaced by Ver 3.1 above

Enjoy this latest update and tell me what you guys think about it. I've tested them for a while now and like what I see. I do this for myself and the community so I would love to hear back from you guys.

For those who liked the previous sliders I decided to post them under these instead of deleting them because the new 3.0 sliders may not appeal to all.

5/29/14 Changed help defense strength for both User and CPU. The previous lower setting affected the double team command too negatively. Raising it not only makes the double team more effective but it also helps in protecting the paint for both sides.

6/17/14 Raised fatigue for both User and CPU and lowered consistency for both User and CPU as well

    Notes/Tips:

These sliders are not for everyone. They are more geared for those who have good knowledge about basketball and experience playing 2k basketball games. With that said, I will try to give tips that will help those who aren’t enjoy these sliders.

A big reason a lot of people get blown out in this game is due to points in the paint. This is not entirely controllable by sliders. The user MUST play good defense. These points in the paint mainly come from a defender getting out of position and getting blown by and by way of buckets in transition and/or fast break.

To minimize this you should pick which defender you will use and which off player you will guard wisely. You must stay in front of him and cut off his angle to the basket. Do not bite on the pump fake too much, over anticipate his move or over use the sprint button. If you guard him correctly he will not try to drive to the basket but pass to another player.

Transition/fast break buckets can easily be toned down by getting back on defense quickly. Don’t sit there and stare at that missed basket.

Protect the ball. The more turnovers you commit the more opportunity for fast breaks and easy buckets. You can’t make every pass you think you can especially on the pick and roll play when the pick player cuts to the basket. It looks very tempting and can be pulled off but the CPU will pick it off as well. Another thing is the long bomb pass on the fast break. The problem with this is if your using a camera that doesn’t show the whole court. You don’t know if that guy who just sprinted up the court is really wide open. Many times you will see that a defender was nearby and it will be too late.

If you are getting too many blocks a game you are spamming the block button. Sometimes you have to go for the block and that’s cool but sometimes putting a body on the offensive player and putting your hands straight up will alter the shot as well as save you from a foul or goal tend.

Call time outs and make coaching adjustments. Sometimes we get caught up in trying to trade baskets or answer the run by coming back down the court jacking up shots. Players get hot and sometimes you have to call a timeout to take them out of rhythm, get your players energy up and assign a different defensive player or squad to combat the run.

Play team ball. Do not, I repeat do not try to have your favorite player do everything on offense all the time. Sure if he’s the best player then you may have to go through him but a good player should try to get others involved. This will lead to better looks and more baskets.

These are just a couple of tips I could think of at the moment. Please play at least 5 or more games before providing advice on changes that need to be made.

    Enjoy!

If the CPU is shooting you out the gym lower CPU mid range to 44 and 3pt to 43.

Also I'm working on the issue of the ball coming loose way too often. I've moved USER ball handling up to 75 to see how often it comes loose like this.

Seems like a great set you got here. This game is finally starting to play as good as it looks vs the CPU as I've been tweaking sliders, testing, tweaking some more. Gonna give these a run right now.

I play 10 min qtrs, SS difficulty. I like how you've got the shooting sliders down, I really had to reduce User/CPU Close/Med/3pt to 44 to actually get more open misses and realistic %'s on that level. Does HOF produce more misses and open misses? Also with fouls at 100 does it get out of hand on HOF? I ask because on SS with shooting fouls at 60 I'm getting adequate FT's (15-25/gm). I like the rest though, having all fouls at 100.

Enough with the questions, I'll give em a go!

Re: POKE’S REALISTIC HOF 12 MIN SLIDERS VERSION 1.

                  Oh yeah lol another thought:

It's shameful what I had to do to get the CPU to stop trying to bulldoze their way into the paint every possession:

                  CPU Attack Basket: 1
CPU Shoot Inside & Shoot Close: 5
                  CPU Shoot Med: 75
                  CPU Shoot 3's: 65
                  CPU Look For Post: 65

FINALLY I'm seeing them relax on the driving, LeBron still attacks but getting a ton of med range pull-ups from Melo, post work from Dwight, kickouts, just beautiful play from the CPU.

Does some of this remedy itself on HOF?

Know what, I'll try these now lol. Just was so afraid of HOF from last gen HOF shenanigans.

Doesn't it seem like your rebounds are just way too high?
