    Re: NFL FA Thread

So what do you want your team to do during FA?

I hope Miami can sign Karlos Dansby and hopefully get a WR as well

If the Dolphins signed Dansby, Antrel Rolle, and Antonio Bryant, I'd be satisfied.

I hope the Rams sign Vick and go after that CB from Houston. (His name escapes me at the moment.)

Resign Mark Tauscher, give Ryan Pickett an extension and MAYBE bring back Aaron Kampman for the right price if he wants to come back.

            Vick isn't a free agent.

Are the eagles going to decline his option? I figured they'd might excercise it and try and trade him.

It really is anyone's guess but neither of the stories I read on it expect them to exercise the option. It is a relatively expensive option for a backup QB who was hardly used at all...If they trade him, it would likely be before March 5th when they have to make the decision on the option.

Okay, I haven't seen much about it recently. I agree, he would be an expensive backup if they weren't able to get rid of him, so what you said about if they trade him they'll do it before march 5th makes sense.

SD should probably look for a RB before the draft for insurance and for having a vet in the 2back system with a rook we will likely draft early.
I dont know what else really. maybe Alliball or AnyGivenSunday could give better FA choices, but i dont think we really need anything

AJ has always built in the draft and doesn't really go after FA's but, this year he may have to because, the RB situation seems critical now IMO. Now he could make some serious moves in the draft but, I'd hope for at least one FA RB. I'm thinking AJ let Sproles go to sign Marcus, Jackson, Gates, etc. in the future. Also the 3 most important players IMO to try to get signed.

Problem is I don't know If there is to many free agents that look very good for SD. SD just got rid of a 30 year old back and most of the free agents are near that age. Like I said though I would like one of these guys but, only one that isn't going to break the bank. IMO Lendale White.

Mike Bell 27 upside: (explosive, in-between tackle runner) downside: (2/3 year deal. no real future RB for SD)

Leon washington 28: upside(Speedy back, special teams) (coming off major injury, wants that big pay day contract, age) Very doubtful.

Chester Taylor 30: upside: (Role player, still explosive, nice 3rd down back) downside: (He's 30, just got rid of a 30 year old back so doubful)

Willie Parker 29: upside: (Still has his legs when healthy) downside: (The injuries are starting to pile up, age)

Lendale White 25: Has the most upside just because, of his age and make the most sense to me plus hasn't been injured lately. He still has his legs, and he can still grind out yards. If SD was going to go after a free agent I think It would be either Bell or White. Other than that Its mostly a bunch of old banged up free agent RB's with only a couple years left.

Downside: (Probably not much of a receiver, doesn't have true break away speed but, definitely has another gear)

I'm forgetting a few backs like Cadillac(tampa bay), Jerious Norwood(ATL) etc. but, there isn't much out there in free agency this year.

Terrell Owens to be Unrestricted Free Agent

                              http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4952770

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Terrell Owens is on the market after the Buffalo Bills announced Saturday they do not plan to offer him a contract.

The Bills also declined to offer contracts to defensive end Ryan Denney and wide receiver Josh Reed, allowing them to become unrestricted free agents at midnight on March 5.

"We wanted to inform all three players ahead of the start of the free agency period so they could begin making their plans," Bills general manager Buddy Nix said. "We just felt that was the right thing to do. All three have represented our organization with class and we thank them for their dedication and hard work."

Owens, who will turn 37 in December, caught 55 passes for 829 yards and five touchdowns in his only season in Buffalo. He also ran for a touchdown.
