My goal is to make a really solid ps2 file. 06 is the better game IMO, but 09 has all the player details unlocked (hometowns/ eligibility)

Feel free to post whatever info you want. The list contains only 1980-2004 teams. Those are the only teams that NCAA 06 will allow you to edit. But I'm certainly open to the older teams as well.
Just a question: How are you going about making pre 1980's teams that dont already exist in the game without Teambuilder?

    And

Why do you think 06 is a better game than 09?

Right now I'm working on NCAA 09. I have thought about doing it for 06. 06 is one of my favorite games all time, but 09 is deeper. My dream would be if we could find someone who knew how to mod ps2 games. The we could get duplicate numbers fixed, as well as preseason rankings and maybe other stuff. I plan on doing a current 2015 roster for 09 as well as all the fcs teams as well. All in all I prefer the old gameplay and my plan is to bring the ps2 versions back to life again.

09 is a deeper game than 06, but 06 had amazing presentation. 06 was my personal favorite, but I figured 09 is more current and doesn't seem to have any issues that other versions have had from what I've read on these forums.

As far as creating the historic teams on 09, I do a ton of research. Stats, rosters, I watch a ton of game footage to figure out depth charts. It's a lot of work, but I love doing it. I have even went as far as buying official team programs on ebay for a few bucks to get accurate rosters for certain teams. As for determining depth on older teams, sometimes I'll watch games from the next 2 seasons to determine who the backups were. For example I'm working on 1977 Notre Dame, I have watched 1978 and 79 season games to determine who the backup lineman and defensive players are. It's a pain, but I'm all about being as accurate as possible. The ultimate goal is to make the best ps2 roster ever. lol I want all historic teams done as well as current rosters for FCS and FBS.

Well these are clearly going to be the most accurate rosters we've seen in years. What I actually meant is, how is it possible to create a team that isnt already in the game? I dont recall NCAA having a create a team feature that allowed you to duplicate real schools?

And also, what is exactly different in presentation from 06 to 09?

Gap here is something you might like.

Sports Artifacts has one of the largest and most varied selections of vintage sports equipment, autographs and memorabilia available. Our specialty is baseball, however we carry a vast array of memorabilia from all sports.

Re: Historic teams rosters and depth charts

The teams are already in the game. I take the "all-time" teams and turn them into a specific yearly team. The first post in the thread shows what teams are in the game. There are 136 historic teams not including the yearly all American teams from 91-03. So there's plenty to edit. lol

In terms of presentation 06 has the killer soundtrack, awesome menu that plays highlights, and a few other things I cant think of.

09 has deeper playbooks, medical redshirts, and in general is a little more deeper in terms of the game and dynasty mode.

                              * Dick Kenney handled all kicking and punting duties
** William Feraco is actually a QB, but I listed him as a punter to fill the roster spot.
*** The base defense is a 5-2, but I formatted the template to a 4-4/4-3 format.
