One of the features in development is a community share system that will let players upload and download custom teams, logos and slider sets. The plan is to support full cross-platform sharing, making it easier for the community to collaborate and get creative. Players will also have the ability to recolor the base logos included in the game, offering more options for personalizing their squads.

On the gameplay front, having a full-time animator on board has helped accelerate things. The team has been dialing in key areas like route running, wide receiver hand placement and the way the ball moves through the air. These updates are already shaping up and are expected to be visible in upcoming builds. There’s also been a strong focus on fine-tuning the feel of the on-field action to better match the pace and rhythm of high school football.

The quarterback and wide receiver passing system has been overhauled with a new meter-based mechanic that gives players more control over timing and ball placement. This change aims to make passing feel more responsive and skill-based. Alongside gameplay improvements, the team has added new stadium environments, including championship venues built to match the energy and scale of big playoff games.

Those looking to jump in early and get in on playtests can support the project via Patreon or just wait it out and wishlist it on Steam for future updates. Varsity High School Football is set to release on PC, Xbox and PlayStation, though there’s no official launch date just yet.
