Widely regarded as one of the greatest fullbacks of all time, Philipp Lahm gets his UEFA Dreamchasers Icon card in EA FC 25. A former World Cup winner, Lahm led the Bavarians to the biggest European glory in the treble-winning 2013 season. He sure was an icon in every sense, and his card in the game is just as versatile with LB, RB, and CDM positions.

Lahm’s SBC isn’t expensive, either. Even without a single fodder, you should be able to comfortably complete him with the squads and players we’ve listed below.

EA FC 25 Philipp Lahm UEFA Dreamchasers SBC Cheapest Solution

To get Philipp Lahm’s UEFA Dreamchasers Icon card, you’ll need seven squads, costing you around 170,000 Coins. That’s if you start from scratch — for those who have been playing and grinding the upgrade packs for a while, you should do it for much less. 

Born Legend & Rising Star

As with every Icon challenge in the game, you’ll need to first toss a Rare Bronze and a Rare Silver Squad. You can get the cards through daily upgrades. We suggest waiting until you have them instead of buying them off the market. 

If you cannot wait, just head to the market and search the rarity. Remember to not pay more than 200 – 500 Coins for Rare Bronze and 350 for Rare Silver. Prices for these tend to go up or down depending on time and whatever challenges are ongoing.

The reward for completing Born Legend is a Small Silver pack, which can be recycled to Rising Start. You’ll get 3 Common Gold Player packs for completing Rising Star.

On A Loan: 82-Rated Squad

For the 82-rated squad challenge, you can get plenty of 82 OVR players for a Buy Now price of no more than 350 Coins each. Here are some of them that are currently being sold at that price:

You don’t have to worry about position or linking with any challenges here, so go for the cheapest card you can find. All common Gold can be found in the market for similar prices, whether 78 or 82-rated, so there is no need to stress over ratings here. You also should be able to do this by simply playing and doing daily upgrades, too.

After completing this, you’ll get Philipp Lahm on loan for five matches. You can then first try to see if he plays better for you than your current fullbacks before investing anything further.

The Bavarians: 85-Rated Squad

For this challenge, you’ll need one player from Bayern Munich, one TOTW, plus nine other players for an 85-rated squad. 

For TOTW players, we recommend doing the 84+ TOTW Upgrade. You can knock that by buying eight of the 82-rated players we listed above and any of the three 84-rated ones we’ll list below for 1,200 each. That’s less than 7,000 against 10,500-plus from the market.

If you instead want to buy from the market, you can buy a cheap 87-rated TOTW player. That way, you can fill the squad with one other 87-rated Gold and the remaining with 84s for competitions. For Inform, you can either try your luck and bid for 10,500 or just instant buy for 12,000 to 13,000. So, your solution here will be one 87 OVR TOTW player for 12,000, another 87 OVR Gold for around 7,000, and the rest 84 OVR for 1,200. That’s less than 30,000 Coins!

Die Mannschaft: 86-Rated Squad

This is rather straightforward — you need an 86-rated squad with one player being from Germany. The cheapest solution based on overall is a mix of (x4) 87, (x1) 86, (x6) 84.

League Legend: 86-Rated Squad

League Legend is the same as Die Mannschaft, you just need a Bundesliga player instead of Germany. Jonathan Tah fits that bill, too. We’ll list several other cheap players here instead. However, you’re fine sticking with the above solution.

87-Rated Squad

You’ll need a simple 87-rated squad here, and there are no Informs or league and nationality requirements. It’ll cost you around 55,000 Coins. The cheapest way currently to assemble the squad is a mix of (x5) 88, (x3) 85, (x3) 84. In terms of price, do not pay more than 9,000 for 88 cards, 2,400 for 85 ones, and 1,200 for 84.

For completing the last challenge, you’ll get a Rare Electrum Players Pack. And, if you kept it for the last, you’ll get the Philipp Lahm card you were working towards.

As we said before, all this should cost you around 170,000. It could be more or less, depending on whether you can fetch players at the right price. Keep the individual prices we said every time above in mind, as they’re the current prices depending on ratings. 

Is Philipp Lahm UEFA Dreamchasers SBC Worth Doing In EA FC 25?

While Philipp Lahm’s SBC is fairly priced, he isn’t a must-have card in EA FC 25. Yes, the German legend is versatile, but he doesn’t appear to be a standout in either of the three available positions. His build and low physicality mean Lahm will easily get bullied by wingers. No Rapid++ or Quick Step++, not even the base version, is a miss for a fullback — you certainly won’t be able to close down elite attackers or run a counter with him.

Though all that is based on his Falseback++ role, so if you like to play your RBs and LBs in a more central role, Lahm will be perfect for it. He certainly can play in those positions, however. He has a couple of good passing playstyles, like Whipped Pass and Pinged Pass. This means you can drag him a little forward from the defense and do some key passes from the wide.

Lahm does look slightly more tempting in a CDM position as Holding++ with all the playstyles and stats. Sure, he still won’t be very physical there, but he will be a good CDM to have in a pair with someone more dominating. Put Anchor Chemistry on him, and you’ll max out all his important defending stats and boost a bit of his weak physical, all of which make him a solid CDM. Great for his price, even. 

Lastly, because he is very versatile, Lahm will be amazing to have on your bench. He is good in all three positions he plays, so you can sub him in any of the three positions depending on how your match is going. 

All in all, while Philipp Lahm isn’t an absolutely unmissable SBC, his fair price means he is far from a bad choice. You can also do the On a Loan 82-rate squad challenge first to bring him on loan and try him for five matches. That should be enough for you to decide whether he’ll be upgraded over your current fullbacks and CDMs.

The SBC isn’t expiring anytime soon, though. You can wait a week or two to see if a better challenge pops up, or you can get someone much better from upcoming promos.
