A Very Simple Badge That Improves Your Shooting in NBA 2K24

Whether it’s watching Steph Curry hit insane threes or watching someone like DeMar DeRozan hit beautiful clutch mid-range shots, shooting is a great art in sports.

If you’re looking to improve on your shooting abilities in NBA 2K24, you can unlock a new Hot Zone called “Lethal” that you can get in the Art of Shooting Gym on current gen. But another new way to knock down more shots is by taking advantage of a new, super simple badge called Open Looks.

When I say this badge is simple, I really do mean it’s simple. What this does is it improves your ability to make open shots. Yup, that’s it. So when you’re wide open, your shots will go down at a higher clip. So, what’s the big deal about this badge if wide open shots are already easier to knock down anyway? Well, you’re taking a strength and making it even stronger. It’s not like you’re hitting wide open shots every time you take them, right? So why not give it a boost? The Open Looks badge will do just that.

Plus, the attribute requirements are very low. All you need is a 58 three or 54 mid-range rating to get the Open Looks badge at bronze. It’s 75 three-point rating or a 72 mid-range rating to get Open Looks at silver. So even if your MyPlayer build isn’t shoot-first, this badge will be there for you, by your side.

Just keep in mind that this badge is exclusive to current-gen consoles so if you’re playing on PS4, Xbox One, or PC you’re not going to see it. There are still plenty of great shooting badges on old gen though so you should be good to go.

Also keep in mind that current gen has a badge progression system now so that means you’ll have to earn the badges by doing whatever its strength is. So in this case, it’s simply knocking open jump shots. Keep doing that and then you’ll unlock this badge and make that open shot making ability much stronger.

This badge is also nice because, although hitting open shots seems pretty easy, it’s “green or miss” on the current-gen version of NBA 2K24. So, one little hiccup in your shot timing will lead to a bad miss. And so the power of the Open Looks badge helps save you from the dread of missing a perfectly open shot. You can still miss of course, but things are made much easier with it.
