Assetto Corsa EVO will feature an open-world map based on Germany’s Eifel region, surrounding the legendary Nürburgring motorsports complex. Set to launch in stages during Early Access in summer 2025, the map is crafted with advanced LIDAR and proprietary terrain technology for unmatched accuracy and realism. Players can explore, interact with local businesses, rent cars and upgrade vehicles using aftermarket parts at various workshops in the area.

In the keynote, Marco Massarutto, Co-Founder and Executive Manager at KUNOS Simulazioni, emphasized how Assetto Corsa EVO stays true to the franchise’s DNA while elevating realism in racing simulation. Key highlights include:

  • The advanced KUNOS proprietary engine with real-time dynamic weather and track conditions.
  • Laser-scanned circuits for unparalleled detail.
  • Enhanced physics, featuring improved suspension, tire models and vehicle dynamics for an authentic racing experience.
  • A glimpse at game content—modes, cars, tracks and the in-game economy—set for the Early Access launch in January, with updates and the full release planned for Fall 2025.

“Assetto Corsa EVO is primarily a love letter to the automotive world and the petrolheads’ lifestyle. Our concept of ‘open world’ is designed to let players enjoy every single car to its fullest, whether on the track or public roads, experiencing the pure driving pleasure and simply enjoying the ride. However, it is worth noting that realism and accuracy remain the key pillars of our AC franchise, in order to provide our community with the most authentic and realistic driving simulation experience we can deliver, and we won’t sacrifice these values,” said Marco Massarutto. “While we understand that Open World could be a very innovative aspect for the game, is important to reassure that this feature is one of the gameplay modes available in Assetto Corsa EVO, that will still be playable in the traditional way. An additional feature to enrich the experience of the layers, on top of the circuits available, for a driving simulation dedicated to maximum realism.”

Assetto Corsa EVO launches on Steam Early Access on January 16, featuring 20 cars across various classes and 5 circuits spanning 4 continents. The full 1.0 version, set for release in Fall 2025, will include 100 cars, at least 15 officially licensed circuits, with additional tracks to be added as free updates.
