The announcement comes after a few days of teasing, where the team hinted at Backyard Sports games arriving on mobile with no ads. Fans can soon relive the classic baseball experience on the go.

The timing of the release makes perfect sense, as it lines up with MLB’s Opening Day, a fitting way to bring Backyard Baseball back into the spotlight. Backyard Soccer ’98 is also on Steam, and with this push to mobile, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it follow shortly after.

While no official release dates have been announced, Backyard Football ’99, Backyard Basketball ’01, Backyard Hockey ’02 and Backyard Baseball ’01 are all set to hit Steam soon. Given the recent news, it’s likely they’ll make their way to mobile not long after, keeping the Backyard Sports revival going strong.
