The Future Stars promo in EA FC 25 not only brings the up-and-coming prodigies of world football to the Ultimate Team, but it also lets you shape one of your own through the Future Stars Academy.
1 from 15 of the current notable youth across different positions is up for the picking. They can be later molded however you want through a series of Evolutions — you can choose 2 Playstyle+, 8 Base Playstyles, and whatnot. While all of that customization is no doubt a good thing, choices always lead to confusion, especially when all of the cards look equally capable.
To take any guesswork out of your decision, here are our recommended Evolution paths, playstyle picks, and everything else about EA FC 25 Future Star Academy.
Best Players To Choose For Future Stars Academy In EA FC 25
All cards among the Future Stars Academy are worth considering in EA Sports FC 25. It is just a matter of which position you need to fill. Simeone, Marc Guiu, Pisilli, Nwaneri, Hall, Thompson, De Winter, and Marcos Leonardo are deserving picks, and so are the rest.
Most cards are close in terms of stats, making it hard to single one out. We’ve also yet to unlock all Evolutions to see who benefits the most in the long-term.
You can also change these players’ positions with EVOs, so if you want Nwaneri in an attacking midfielder position instead of on the flanks, you’re free to do that. Plus, if you upgrade them to their Icon variants, chem won’t be an issue, as they will get Icon chemistry once you’ve reached OVR 91.
With all of that in mind, we’ll throw in a general piece of advice when it comes to picking the player you want: Just select the player from your favorite team. It may be bad, but since it’ll be your favorite, you won’t regret it, or at least pretend not to. Otherwise, just compare the cards and pick the one with the highest stats in the areas that matter most to you.
Best Future Stars Academy Evolution Path

So far, two sets of Evolutions are available for all positions in EA FC 25: Aspiring Attacker I & II, Methodical Midfielder I & II, and Dynamic Defender I & II. All of the EVOs give a +4 OVR and below are the other boosts each of them provides.
First Evolution
- Aspiring Attacker I
- Pace: +3
- Shooting: +4
- Dribbling: +3
- Physical: +3
- Methodical Midfielder I
- Pace: +3 (max 90)
- Shooting: +3
- Passing: +4
- Dribbling: +3
- Defending: +3
- Physical: +4
- Dynamic Defender I
- Pace: +3 (max 88)
- Passing: +3
- Dribbling: +3
- Defending: +4
- Physical: +4
Second Evolution
- Aspiring Attacker II
- Pace: +3
- Shooting: +5
- Passing: +4 (Max 84)
- Dribbling: +4
- Physical: +3
- Methodical Midfielder II
- Pace: +3 (max 90)
- Shooting: +3
- Passing: +5
- Dribbling: +3
- Defending: +3
- Physical: +3
- Dynamic Defend II
- Pace: +3 (max 88)
- Shooting: +2
- Passing: +3
- Dribbling: +4
- Defending: +4
- Physical: +4
These are the first two of three total EVOs like these that you can do. The third and final EVO will be available in the coming weeks. For now, you have to pick one among the three per batch for your FS Academy star.
Among the first batch, Methodical Midfielder I is clearly superior regardless of the player and position. It makes any card you pick more well-rounded than the other two. The only cap in the Methodical Midfielder I EVO is 90 pace, which remains unchanged in Methodical Midfielder II.
As for the second one, Aspiring Attacker II provides an edge for non-defenders. We do not know the caps for the last EVO, what it’ll upgrade, or by how many numbers. So, we recommend holding up on these until all of them are available. Once all have been rolled out, you can better judge and pick the one that upgrades your desired stats the most.
Besides, EA will probably balance these out so that there is not one ridiculously overpowered card, right? There is a high chance attackers will simply be better off with their own and others with their respective EVO.
One thing to keep in mind is that if you do any other Evolution like the Sharp Shooter, the card stops being a Future Star and it won’t be eligible for upcoming upgrades that are part of the promo. Generally, none of the existing ones should be better for your Academy cards than their own EVOs, so we recommend not using any other route.
Best Playstyle And Playstyle+ Pick For Future Stars Academy In EA FC 25
All Playstyles can also be upgraded through Evolutions after claiming them from the Objective in EA FC 25. Of course, what you select depends on the actual position like CM, CAM, ST, LW, CB, RB, and how your team plays. Here are some of the better ones to pick position-wise:
Playstyle+
- Defender: Anticipate, Intercept, Quick Step
- Midfielder: Incisive Pass, Quick Step, Rapid, Tiki Taka
- Attacker: Power Shot, Quick Step, Trivela
Base Playstyle
- Defender: Aerial, Block, Bruiser, Jockey, Long Ball, Press Proven, Technical, Whipped Pass
- Midfielder: Finesse Shot, Jockey, Long Ball Pass, Pinged Pass, Press Proven, Relentless, Technical, Whipped Pass
- Attacker: Aerial, Acrobatic, Finesse Shot, Jockey, Press Proven, Pinged Pass, Relentless, Technical
In general, you’ll be fine as long as you pick anything that makes sense when it comes to the Base Playstyle upgrade. You should be selective on Playstyle+, though. The ones we listed above are better than the other available ones, so pick either of those two that better suit the player and how you plan on playing.
As for which to pick between the 5-Star Skill Move Upgrade and Weak Foot Upgrade, we suggest going with the Weak Foot Upgrade unless you do skills a lot and are a real Neymar with the ball on your feet.
That’s everything about the FS Academy in EA Sports FC 25. For more, check out the upcoming promo calendar as well as the full list of Season 5 rewards.
