Best Ways To Earn Stubs in MLB The Show 25

Falling short on stubs? We got you covered!

Stubs are MLB The Show 25’s virtual in-game currency, used to buy players, packs, and equipment. If you’re not able to earn a ton of stubs, you’ll probably lag in getting good players and get beaten by other players who have a strong team. This can be infuriating. Fortunately, there are a ton of ways to earn stubs quickly in MLB The Show 25

The OG player base has already learned the efficient methods to get stubs fast. However, if you’re just starting, we’ll help you learn some of the best ways to earn stubs in MLB The Show 25. All of these techniques are easy to follow and you can use them to quickly stack up stubs.

Best Ways To Earn Stubs in MLB The Show 25

Purchasing Stubs With Real Money

This one seems too simple, so we thought we’d get it out of the way. Like any in-game currency, stubs in MLB The Show 25 can be purchased from both Xbox and PlayStation stores. If you don’t mind dropping a couple of bucks, you can always find stubs offers online. All you need to do is:

  • Login to the Xbox/PlayStation Store with your linked account.
  • Go to the MLB The Show 25 page and find stub offers.
  • Select whichever one is most suitable for you and purchase it.
  • Login to your game and you should find your purchased stubs.

That said, we do need to caution you about buying stubs from third-party websites. Many websites seemingly offer stubs at discounted rates. However, there is no security on these sites, and your account might get compromised.

Also, remember that buying stubs from third-party websites may be against SDS policy. If you are found violating this policy, they may ban your account indefinitely. Due to this, we recommend always using official platforms to purchase stubs. It’s also not economical, as buying enough stubs to cover Live Series will require you to invest several hundred dollars.

Completing Programs

The easiest way to collect great players and earn stubs along the way is by knocking out the assorted programs. There are a ton of programs in the game, all of which award you with stubs, high-rated players, packs, and XP. By completing programs like the Tokyo Series, Pipeline program, and others, you can earn these rewards and build your team without reaching into your wallet. This is the best way to go ‘no-money spent’ in MLB The Show 25

To complete these programs, you’ll need to finish the moments, missions, and objectives of each one. Once you complete these missions, you’ll progress through the program, and each milestone will contain a reward. Some of these rewards will contain a ton of XP, which will progress you further in the XP Path. Again, this will earn you more stubs, high-value cards, and packs, making your team even stronger.

Since everything in MLB The Show 25 is interconnected, you’ll also be completing your collections by attaining these cards and packs. Every now and then, programs will earn you some extra free stubs. It won’t be a lot, but it’s something.

A majority of the good stub rewards are found in the Multiplayer Program. Obviously, for players not yet ready for Ranked, this will seem daunting. But worry not — these can be done in lower-stakes modes such as Events or Battle Royale. So long as you are playing a multiplayer mode, you will passively earn XP for the Multiplayer Program.

Selling Duplicate Cards

Selling duplicates is another passive method to earn stubs. As you unlock packs, you’re bound to get tons of duplicates. They might only be Bronze or Silver-grade cards but make sure you keep selling them.

Every once in a while, check your binder for duplicate cards. Here’s how to do it:

  • Go to ‘My Inventory’ under the ‘Collect’ tab.
  • Find each card you have at least one duplicate of.
  • Click on ‘View in Market’ and then sell the card.
  • You can also create a ‘Sell Order’, which will sell the card once someone buys it.

This won’t get you to 100k stubs overnight. But you will see a noticeable difference every few weeks or so.

Conquest Playthrough

Moving on to gameplay-related techniques, the first game mode we have is Conquest. With a lot of Conquest maps to choose from, it’s one of the most effective ways to earn rewards in the game.

Conquest has tons of goals and hidden quests you can complete for stubs. These offer varying rewards like stubs, packs, and even Diamond cards. Make sure you don’t miss out on these free stubs.

Diamond Quest Playthrough

Diamond Quest is similar to Conquest since it’s a mini-game offering free rewards. To collect these rewards, you’ll need to complete challenges within the game mode. If you complete the challenges at a higher difficulty, you’ll receive better rewards. While Diamond Quest doesn’t outright give stubs, it’s the easiest and most efficient way to farm packs.

Should you be able to complete one of — if not both — of the Stadium games in Diamond Quest, the rewards are well worth it. This is especially true if you play it on GOAT difficulty, which all but guarantees you to get the Epic rewards, which can be sold on the market. And though Epic rewards such as Noah Schultz and Garrett Crochet have tanked a bit, they are still a guaranteed 6k+ stubs each. And they can be earned multiple times, so if you want to rush through any map, this could be an effective way to continuously grind stubs, which can be used to get the highly coveted Live Series cards.

This game mode is harder compared to Conquest or Mini Seasons, though. You’ll need to understand how to go about the map; otherwise, completing quests will feel far more challenging. So, we recommend focusing on quests that give out targeted cards rather than going for every prize in your first playthrough.

Mini Seasons

Mini Seasons is the final gameplay-related method to earn stubs. With rotating mini-seasons throughout the year, you can find good rewards at times. You also have the Classic Mini Seasons. The rewards here aren’t all that great, but the challenge requirements reflect that.

You can simply play matches on the lowest difficulty and win the required matches to get the rewards. You’ll mostly find packs with Silver or sometimes Gold players if you’re lucky. It isn’t an amazing way to earn stubs, but who doesn’t love free rewards?

Card Flipping In Marketplace

Lastly, we have card flipping on the MLBTS 25 Marketplace. This method is regarded as the best way to quickly get free stubs. It follows the simple principle of buying and selling a commodity at a higher price to gain a profit. While simple, this technique requires some research and prior knowledge to help streamline profits. Otherwise, it might take you hours of unsuccessful orders to get the hang of it.

To get started, here’s what you need to know about card flipping in the marketplace:

  • Card flipping should preferably be done when there’s a large spread between the buy/sell prices.
  • Each card you sell has a 10% tax. You should take that into account before thinking of flipping a particular card.
  • It is beneficial to create Buy and Sell orders rather than buying/selling cards instantly. That said, the fulfillment of orders has no specific timeline and depends on the market.
  • Gold cards are easier to flip since they are more in demand. You can target cards from specific series according to the market state.
  • There are real-time market-monitoring tools online such as ShowZone and Showdd.io. Follow these to track market trends and understand card popularity.

These are some basic tips you should know before becoming a card flipper. With all this in mind, let’s move on to how it’s done:

  1. Open your ‘Marketplace’ under the ‘Shop’ tab.
  2. Select the card category, e.g., MLB players, equipment, uniform, etc. MLB players are the best category since there’s a lot of trading going on.
  3. Set the rarity to Gold. If you’re targeting a specific series, change the filter to that series.
  4. Sift through the filtered cards and find cards with large spreads between their Buy/Sell costs. A good spread is ideally around 600-900 stubs, depending on card rarity and demand.
  5. Create a Buy order for your chosen card. Set the price just over the current highest Buy order. This is to ensure your order is more likely to be accepted before others.
  6. Once the order goes through, create a Sell order for that card. Set the price just below the current lowest Sell order. Just like before, this makes it more likely to get filled faster.
  7. Wait for someone to buy the card. Once they do, you’ll regain the stubs you used to buy the card, plus some profit on top of it. The profit percentage and time taken are both variable factors in this method.

If you’re just starting with card flipping, make sure to calculate the profit beforehand. Calculate the Sell order minus 10% tax. Subtract the amount from your Buy order to find profit. If the amount isn’t good, going through this entire hassle isn’t worth it. So, make sure you’re getting a good profit.

We’d recommend testing and learning this method early. Learning to effectively flip cards in MLBTS 25 takes time, so it’s better to start early. Once you get the hang of it, earning stubs and building your dream team shouldn’t take long.
