To commemorate the beginning of the 2025 Major League Baseball season, MLB The Show 25 is giving Diamond Dynasty players double PXP from March 27 until March 31 at noon (PT). For anyone new to Diamond Dynasty, PXP is Parallel XP, which is essentially the points required to upgrade a card in terms of its Parallel. The max is Parallel 5, which will give that particular card +5 in every attribute.
Because of this, players will certainly be grinding it out over the next few days to quickly Parallel their favorite cards. But how should you be utilizing these temporary PXP gains?
Use Double PXP To Complete Programs And Team Affinity

As you can see above, I’m gonna need to follow this advice as well this weekend. But when it comes to double PXP, the best way to make use of it is by completing programs. At this moment in time, that means completing the New Threads program and finishing each of its PXP missions.
I’ll be upfront: Earning Max Scherzer is a bit of a letdown in terms of the headliner reward for the New Threads program. That said, depending on where you are in terms of progress, getting the Scherzer card — as well as everyone else — and earning the pack will give you a good start in terms of earning enough New Threads cards to start completing the New Threads collection.
For those of you who have yet to check it out yet, the New Threads collection consists of the following players:
- 10 Cards – Alex Bregman
- 20 Cards – Aroldis Chapman
- 28 Cards – Anthony Santander
While the program rewards itself are underwhelming in New Threads, the collection awards are definitely not. Aroldis Chapman will undoubtedly be the most overpowering reliever in the game at the moment, Alex Bregman is a solid righty third baseman who can add some much-needed pop to your lineup, and Anthony Santander is a switch-hitting extraordinaire equipped with good quirks and high power from both sides of the plate.
Outside of individual programs, this is also the perfect time to be knocking out as many Team Affinity-related missions as possible. Team Affinity is always one of the toughest grinds of the year, so promos like this are a godsend for anyone who desperately wants the cards they have to offer.
In terms of how you should be collecting this PXP, my suggestion would be to play either Diamond Quest or Conquest with a lineup, rotation, and bullpen all consisting of cards that can give you gains in any of the programs you’d like to quickly complete. Despite me crapping all over it when it first released, I’ve come to love Diamond Quest. Not only is it giving you multiple methods to play shorter games and earn great rewards, but it’s also giving you packs.
