College Football 26 Release Date Set For July 10, First Trailer and Pre-Orders Live

High school is back in Road to Glory mode.

With the NFL Draft kicking off tonight, EA somewhat surprisingly revealed EA Sports College Football 26. It was revealed alongside Madden 26, and while there was no gameplay in the trailer, the wildly successful MVP Bundle is back once again.

We did get a couple details about a game looking to avoid a sophomore slump, but first let’s get into the pre-order bundle. The MVP Bundle is the pre-order package that gets you both College Football 26 and Madden 26, along with a host of Ultimate Team goodies, three days early access (this gets you CFB ’26 on July 7), and some new “Dynasty Coach” and “Road to Glory” points. The bundle is $150 or $135 if you’re an EA Play member. It’s an obvious slam dunk for a bunch of us here because we get the game early and each game costs $70 either way.

If you’re waiting for EA to “prove” that CFB ’26 is worth it, I doubt this trailer will be the one to earn your money because there’s not a lot here. Instead, EA is promising a “full reveal” for the game in May. If that full reveal acts like last year’s, it won’t actually be a full reveal, but it will likely mean our first look at gameplay and the full feature set.

As for today’s news, if you’ve followed the series at all, it’s about the most unsurprising thing ever that high school is returning to Road to Glory mode for ’26. It’s a good thing (assuming we don’t overstay our welcome in HS), but it’s mostly just returning the mode to its roots. Overall, CFB has been good about trying to bring back all the most cherished aspects from the franchise’s prior glory, but what most of us really want are imported draft classes. I would guess those will remain out of the game this year, but with this added focus on taking a player from HS all the way through your NFL career, we’ll leave the door ajar.

Otherwise, the only really noticeable thing I saw was Delaware on the scorebug at one point. This does not mean we’re getting FCS schools as Delaware made the jump to FBS for the upcoming college football season. Still, it’s good to see, and this means Missouri State is likely in the game as well.

One other fire it seems EA wanted to put out before it got out of control was this note about “Dynasty Coach Points” and “Road to Glory Skill Points” that are part of the pre-order bundle. This does not mean you will now be buying points for these modes as part of some extension of microtransactions into single-player modes.

Here is the info from their Q&A on that topic:

Q: Will Dynasty Coach Points and Road to Glory Skill Points be purchasable for real life currency?

A: No, these points are an earnable currency in game via completed objectives and completing milestones that will provide you the ability to upgrade your in-game attributes for your teams in Dynasty and individual players in Road To Glory.

So what this seems to mean is we’ll get some extra points in our pre-order bundle that we won’t need to earn via in-game goals, but otherwise we can’t purchase more.

One last note about the MVP Bundle is that if you pre-order by April 29, you will also get a 99 OVR Travis Hunter card for College Football Ultimate Team and Madden 25 Ultimate Team. With the draft tonight, maybe EA gets a couple extra fans of a team like the Giants or Browns to pre-order once Hunter presumably winds up being drafted by one of those two teams.
