Everybody loves a pretty jumpshot. And in NBA 2K25 — as well as the modern NBA landscape — a good jumper is one of the biggest keys to success. Like in past titles, NBA 2K25 gives players a ton of customizable options to allow them to find the perfect animation for them. But which of these animations are players having the most success with?
In this guide, we’ll be breaking down jumpshot animations and which ones you should be giving a try depending on your in-game player’s height. As a general rule, animations should be quick and snappy in order to encourage both good timing and catch opposing players off-guard.
Mind you, some of these animations require you to unlock them through a variety of methods, be it playing through MyCareer, quest completion, Player Level/Reputation progression, or even using Virtual Currency (VC). For simplicity’s sake, we won’t be going into all of that. Using the Release or Push visual cues are also completely down to personal preference.
With all of that out of the way, here is the complete jumpshot guide for all heights in NBA 2K25.
Complete Jumpshot Guide For All Heights In NBA 2K25
6’4″ And Below
- Lower / Base: Patrick Mills
- Upper Release 1: Oscar Robertson
- Upper Release 2: Kyrie Irving
This should come as no surprise to anyone, but the combo of the Patrick Mills base and Oscar Robertson’s Upper Release 1 is one that many 2K players revisit. It’s quick, smooth, and provides tons of options in terms of the final release. For Upper Release 2, we’ve gone with Kyrie Irving as it feels like a natural progression from the previous options. In terms of Animation Blending, set it to about 65-35%.
6’5″ – 6’9″
- Lower / Base: Jaylon Tyson
- Upper Release 1: Charles Bassey
- Upper Release 2: Charles Bassey
We’re doubling on Charles Bassey’s animations for the forward-like 6’5″-6’10” build. As with all of the jumpshots on this list, this one is snappy. And with the extra height, it’ll make this animation all the more harder to block. For the Animation Blending on this one, you can afford to go 50-50. And if you want to fine tune it in either direction, you’re free to do so.
6’10” – 7’3″
- Lower / Base: Olivier Sarr
- Upper Release 1: LaMarcus Aldridge
- Upper Release 2: Bam Adebayo
Now onto my favorite build in the game — the big center! For this animation, we’ve gone with Olivier Sarr as the base, LaMarcus Aldridge for Upper Release 1, and Bam Adebayo for Upper Release 2. This animation has a very good vertical with quick response. The ideal Animation Blending I’ve found for this build is 60-40% in favor of LaMarcus Aldridge.
