The calm before the storm is more eventful than usual as we get All-Star Lou Gehrig today in the Lou Gehrig Day Program in Diamond Dynasty. On top of that, we got a lot of news about the cards coming to the game tomorrow, including the reveal of the big collection reward. Let’s jump into all that below.

Lou Gehrig Day Program - All-Star Lou Gehrig

Listed under the “Other Programs” tab, Gehrig is another player off to a hot start already this year as his gold card was a hit among many early in the cycle. Generally speaking, I enjoy Gehrig’s swing and he’s a good get in all forms. We are not short on the 1B position (and it’s about to get even more crowded), but this is a perfectly balanced 92 overall card that should be easy to use if you like the swing. His speed and defense are fine for 1B, and then you’re getting a balanced hitter with great vision and discipline at the plate. All in all, a nice little free treat.

As for the program, just a heads up that there are exchanges for the Royals and Yankees (you don’t need to do them), and that’s making most Royals and Yankees go up in price in the short term. So if you have some duplicates on hand, be sure to sell them ASAP. I think these exchanges are being utilized because you only have to do moments and one exchange to unlock the All-Star Salvador Perez — rather than play any games with Yankees players for PxP. In other words, it just makes doing the program more efficient.

Here is a look at All-Star Salvador Perez as well:

For the record, the Live Series Salvador Perez remains my favorite catcher this year for whatever reason, and this card is a slight upgrade more or less across the board. So while this card excites me a bit, there’s far better catcher options out there.

Mega Collection Reward Revealed

Finest George Brett is the mega collection reward. As expected, he will be a 99 overall. The Finest card art is beautiful (we’re getting at least one other Finest tomorrow as well with Brian Wilson), so this is the start of its own collection on top of being the top reward for those who can put together enough cards. I did not see many George Brett predictions out there, but once again he’s off to a hot start this year as is because his gold card was another solid bat for many folks early in the cycle.

Regardless of how you feel about this collection reward, tomorrow is going to be a busy day with the collection dropping, the Future Stars Program beginning, and the second set of Always Intense cards dropping.
