EA FC 25 Career Mode: Realistic Slider Settings

How to make your career mode playthrough more realistic and immersive.

The main selling point of EA FC 25 is how closely it mimics real-life football. EA has done great with player likeness, ball physics, realistic player motions, and interactions on the field. However, there is still a bit to be desired in terms of gameplay and match realism. That is especially true in career mode, where you compete against the CPU. But you can improve the realism of your career mode matches by tweaking a few gameplay sliders. Without further ado, here are the best slider settings for EA FC 25.

Match Settings

  • Half-length: 10 minutes — This allows for a slower, more controlled match experience that builds up intensity over time, similar to real life.
  • Difficulty: Legendary — Unlike Ultimate difficulty, which is hard to beat, legendary difficulty has a more balanced feel. It’s still challenging but not tedious. With the slider settings below, it is even more realistic.
  • Play Clock: On
  • Fatigue: Set to 80 to simulate player stamina realistically
  • Power Shot Zoom: Off (in real-life football, no one zooms in when Haaland or Ronaldo is about to smash a long-range powershot)

CPU AI Behavior Slider Settings

  • Tackle Aggression: 80 — This setting determines the frequency and commitment of CPU tackles on your players.
  • Buildup Speed: 80 — This setting makes the game flow much quicker with end-to-end action and quick transitions from defense to offense.
  • Shot Frequency: 55 — The CPU often feels like it doesn’t attempt enough shots. It dances around your box for ages, looking for the perfect shot. This setting gives it a bit more incentive to take more shots.
  • First Touch Pass Frequency: 65 — The pace of most professional matches requires players to rely on quick thinking and on-touch passing to move the ball from person to person. This setting better simulates this fact.
  • Crossing Frequency: 75 — Many FC players complain that CPU-controlled players do not attempt crosses, which are a fundamental part of real-life soccer. With this slider adjustment, the CPU tries more crosses.
  • Dribble Frequency: 55 — By slightly increasing the CPU’s dribble frequency, you can make the game more challenging and, therefore, more realistic.
  • Skill Move Frequency: 75 — Skill moves are always fun to pull off and challenging to defend. The CPU rarely tries skill moves despite how good they are. This setting rectifies that issue.

Additional Recommendations

  • Competitor Mode: Enable this setting to simulate top-tier team playstyles, providing a more challenging opponent.
  • Camera Settings: Adjust the camera to a broadcast-style angle to enhance the realism of the match presentation. If you need to use a more player-friendly camera like Co-op to aid in gameplay, then fair enough. But if you want a realistic representation of what you see on TV, then Broadcast is a must.

Note: This article is specifically intended for career mode slider settings. However, with a bit more tweaking in certain areas, these settings can also serve you well in other game modes.
