EA FC 25: How to Turn Off Trainer, Explained

Don't teach granny how to suck eggs every time, EA.

The trainer is pretty useful for players who are new to EA FC 25 or don’t play many football games. When turned on, it displays the regular controls and gameplay tips, allowing you to learn while playing without having to rehearse anything beforehand.

But for some of you who have been here since the FIFA days farming packs like a sweatshop worker, these instructions are a wee bit useless. Even if you’re not using them, the trainer can get bugged and turn on its own after playing certain modes. If you haven’t yet figured out where to switch them off, here is exactly where to look.

How To Disable The Trainer In EA FC 25

To turn off the trainer in EA FC 25, load into any match and hit pause. In the pause menu, you’ll find the “Trainer” option right near the bottom.

You can turn all the indicators off in one go by toggling the “FC Trainer Toggle” option to “Hide” in the trainer menu, it is at the very top.

Likewise, select “Show” to enable them back. If you want to be selective with them, select “On” or “Off” on individual indicators to keep certain indicators while disabling the others. In earlier games, you could switch them on the go during the match by pressing analog sticks, but that’s not the case for EA FC 25.

The Trainer can be quite useful. For example, showing the direction of your sticks can improve your passing accuracy or offside indicators can help you avoid mistiming through balls. Even better, the Defensive Trainer can help you position your defenders for interceptions.

Whether or not you keep it on is entirely up to your preference. It is more or less an accessibility feature — directional indicators are extremely useful for people who have poor hand-eye coordination. But if you don’t need them, it’ll only be another set of distracting visual clutter.

Similar to the trainer, you also get PlayStyle+ indicators on the top of the player’s head whenever it is activated. If you want to disable it, for whatever reason, you can do it in the game settings.

The PlayStyle+ indicator is actually useful, so you’re free to keep it on. But if you want to disable the overhead indicator in EA FC 25:

  1. Head to “Settings.”
  2. Click on “Game Settings.”
  3. Go to the “Visual” tab.
  4. Toggle “Off” in the “PlayStyle+ Overhead Indicator.”

The menu also has plenty of other HUD customization options that you can turn on or off, like the HyperMotion Insight Overlays which stop the most fatigued or the worst performers graphs that occupy half the pitch.

So, while the game does have a habit of showing some really unnecessary and distracting overlays, it does give you enough options to keep things clean.

That’s about everything you need to know about disabling Trainer in EA FC 25. If you’re looking for something more useful than simple control hints, here are some of the tactics and Club builds worth checking.
