Behind every great football club is a great midfielder. Without someone to distribute perfectly weighted passes or close down space in the middle of the park, your team sheet isn’t worth the paper (or whiteboard) it was written on. In EA Sports FC 25‘s Pro Clubs mode, this principle is no different. At the CAM position, you’re responsible for the bulk of the passing done in your club’s attack. But how do you make the best CAM build in the game?
In this guide, we’ll go over your Pro Clubs player’s attributes and how they should be allocated to give you the best chance of succeeding. Just a heads up, I am at max level in Pro Clubs so all of the 160 attribute points in the game are at my disposal. If you are at a lower level and haven’t unlocked all of these attribute points, worry not — the basic principles of this build will still hold true, even if you will be a bit more limited.
Best CAM Build In EA Sports FC 25 Pro Clubs
Player Size And Position
Prior to building a strong CAM build to use in Pro Clubs, it’s important to know not only what kind of CAM you want to be, but also know how your team wants to play. For the sake of simplicity, this build is being created under the assumption that your team plays a free-flowing, pass-heavy brand of football.
To achieve a good build for this style of play, a good size for your pro should be 5-foot-9 and weigh 121 lbs. You can play around with this to see how you feel, but this is the size I’ve found the most success with as it allows me to move quickly and efficiently through a congested midfield.
Another quick tip is to avoid using the actual CAM position and instead try the LW/RW position. In my experience, while the CAM boasts several great passing attributes at its base, the winger builds give you strong passing while still allowing your player to be good when on the ball and in tight spaces.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff…
PlayStyles
Before we start allocating your attribute points, you will be tasked with setting up your pro’s PlayStyles. These essentially act as perks to give your pro certain advantages for certain in-game mechanics. These are what I consider the best choices.
PlayStyles+
- Pinged Pass+
- Long Ball Pass+
PlayStyles
- Incisive Pass
- Tiki Taka
- First Touch
- Press Proven
- Quick Step
- Relentless
The core philosophy of selecting these PlayStyles is to ensure a pro player who is comfortable on the ball and can perform a wide litany of passes for any scenario. For instance, having Pinged Pass+ and Long Ball Pass+ ensures your advantage when playing the ball not only on the ground through small defensive gaps with pace but over the top of the defense, too. Furthermore, PlayStyles such as First Touch and Tiki Taka allow efficiency when receiving the ball at your feet or playing a first-time pass.
Pace
We won’t spend too much time on this category because as every seasoned FC 25 player knows, pace is king. If you’re not quick when running around or through a defensive back line — which you’ll be doing a lot — then you’re setting yourself up for failure. To avoid said failure, max out your pace. You’re going to need it.
Shooting
While a CAM is mostly tasked as the playmaker on a Pro Clubs team, there will be plenty of opportunities where you’ll get a chance to put a good shot on goal. So it’s important to have a nice balance here.
Firstly, max out your weak foot to 5 stars. This will make your player adept at both shooting and passing with both feet. I’ve opted to use 11 points on Shot Power as the winger build you’re using will lack in that department. If you’re not striking the ball with pace, even the best-placed shots will be easily saved by any goalkeeper worth their salt.
From there, use two points on FK Accuracy and one on Long Shots and you’re good to go.
Passing
Now for the pièce de résistance of your CAM build — passing.
Because the winger position you selected earlier will already have good passing stats in most categories, you won’t have to max everything out. That said, you should apply as many points on attributes such Vision, Short, and Long Passing as possible. Again, passing is your primary role at CAM, so getting big gains in these areas is of the utmost importance.
Dribbling
This one is tricky because no matter how good you are at Pro Clubs, everyone plays the CAM position differently. Some will be no-nonsense playmakers who simply keep the ball moving. Others will take it upon themselves to carry the ball and pick out the perfect pass. For this build, we’re going with the latter.
For me personally, I’m running with 5-star skill moves — it never hurts to be able to beat a defensive midfielder or defender to find either a quality pass in behind or a shot on goal. Two things that you will absolutely not want to miss out on are both Agility and Ball Control. You’re a CAM, so you’re on the ball in the most crowded part of the pitch. In other words, it’s best if you’re not only as agile as possible, but can also hold tight possession of the ball while waiting for your teammates to find those gaps in the defense.
Physical
Because defending isn’t the job of a CAM, we’re skipping the Defending attribute tree and going right on to Physical. The Physical attribute tree is mostly useful to players who fight for the ball as much as possible, such as center backs or strikers. That said, there isn’t any harm in allocating a few points to your Reactions. For the uninitiated, Reactions is the attribute that helps the game determine how effectively and quickly your pro gets through animations. As we’ve mentioned ad nauseam in this guide, you’re on the ball a lot and will seldom have time before you get closed down. Point being, adding two attribute points to this category should prove very helpful.
This is how to make the best CAM build on EA FC 25 Pro Clubs. Be smart, efficient, and decisive, and your team will be comparing you to Kevin De Bruyne in no time!
