EA Sports WRC patch 2.16 is available today on all platforms, improving the onboarding experience for first-time players following the game’s addition to Game Pass and the EA Play List, while also introducing a new “Visual Only” damage difficulty setting.
The new “Visual Only” damage option disables mechanical damage across Career, Championship, Clubs, Quick Play Solo and Quick Play Multiplayer. With this setting, tires won’t suffer punctures (though tire wear remains) and players won’t experience Terminal Damage from crashes or entering unrecoverable zones. The Normal and Hardcore Damage Difficulty settings remain unchanged, with “Hardcore Damage” now renamed to “Damage Difficulty” across all game modes.
The Play Experience menu has been adjusted for new players, with rebalanced pre-selected assists for the Experienced option and clearer on-screen indicators for the settings enabled in each of the three options. Players can fully customize their assists and settings once they move past this screen. Experienced players will now be directed to the Rally School before beginning their rally journey.
