eFootball Patch 4.2.0 and Captain Tsubasa Campaign Available Today

Konami has released eFootball patch 4.2.0 today along with their new Captain Tsubasa collaboration campaign. Players can earn special rewards, including Player Cards, Strips and Avatar Sets featuring collaborative designs with characters from the football manga. These characters will be available as controllable players in Time Attack Events and the Daily Game. For more information, watch the trailer below and visit the official blog.

The 4.2.0 patch doesn’t include any gameplay changes, but it brings updates to player photos, boots, balls, stadium graphics and more, though specific details were not provided. The update is available for PlayStation, Xbox and PC, check out the patch notes below.

Feature Addition and Changes

  • Objectives have been improved for easier use.
  • Changed the logic for calculating the aptness values shown under “In-Match Roles” in the Game Plan. Specifically, “Boosters”, “Position Proficiency” and “Manager’s Team Playstyle Proficiency” are taken into account to calculate this value.
  • Some Special Player Lists will remain available throughout the Event Period.
  • Added a new feature to exchange GP for products.
  • Added a functionality that will notify you of any eFootball Points that are about to expire. This notification will be shown in [Shop] > [eFootball Points] if any Points is less than 1 week away from reaching its Date of Validity.
  • [Attention Users Residing in Japan] A date of validity will not be applied to eFootball Coins acquired after the v4.2.0 update. However, coins obtained before the update will still retain their date of validity.

Updates and Additions

  • Data related to the AFC Asian Cup will no longer be available.
    *Various data related to teams participating in the tournament will be replaced with eFootball’s original designs.
  • Updated licences.
  • Added Turkish to Commentary Language. Excluding some countries/regions

General Fixes Applied to Mitigate or Eliminate the Bugs Shown Below

  • Some players do not appear when sorting cards by [Card Type] > [Trending].
  • Users can perform a Shoot command when taking a Free Kick inside their own half.
