EA and Codemasters have announced the F1 22 circuits in Spain, Australia, and Abu Dhabi will receive in-game updates to reflect their real-world counterparts. With the update, the new era of Formula 1 will be ushered in with new track layouts and details, along with new cars and regulations.
The team released a few short videos showing off the new track layouts for Spain, Australia, and Abu Dhabi, along with a hot lap from Spain with Fernando Alonso.
- The Spanish track will feature a new layout on Turn 10 and updates were made to the offtrack areas of turns 10-14.
- The Australian Albert Park Circuit has been remodeled using LIDAR data to give it more detailed height and camber, plus outfield area walls were repositioned and multiple turn layouts were updated.
- The hairpin on turn 5 of the Abu Dhabi track where Verstappen overtook Hamilton to secure the 2021 Formula One World Championship has moved up to add more runoff and the chicane was removed. In addition, turns 13-15 have been rounded off around the hotel to allow cars to follow more closely.
F1 22 is scheduled to release on July 1 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the EA App, Origin, Steam, and the Epic Game Store. Fans that pre-order the F1 22 Champions Edition will receive the game 3 days earlier on June 28. It will include New Era content, an F1 Life Starter Pack, new My Team Icons, and 18,000 PitCoin.
The Champions Edition also includes a special Miami-themed content pack featuring livery, suit, helmet, gloves, a cap, t-shirt and wall art designed by a local artist, when you pre-order the game before May 16.
