F1 24 Patch 1.16 Adds Harder AI, Updated Sponsors, Visual Improvements and More

EA Sports rolled out F1 24 patch 1.16 earlier today, introducing a harder AI difficulty setting, updated sponsors, visual enhancements and more. This update arrives just in time for the kickoff of Part 2 of Season 4 tomorrow.

The patch also includes updated sponsor branding to the Williams, Haas and McLaren cars. The Williams car now showcases logos for Globant and Mercado Libre, while the Haas features new Toyota Gazoo Racing and Orion 180 branding. The Darktrace logos on the McLaren have also been refreshed with a new color scheme after their first constructor’s title since 1998.

The update also introduces a tougher challenge for experienced players, with AI difficulty levels between 101 and 110 receiving a boost. Responding to community feedback, this adjustment reduces AI lap times by roughly one-tenth of a second at the maximum difficulty setting of 110, though the exact impact may vary depending on the circuit. The change aims to provide a more competitive experience for those seeking the highest level of gameplay. Check out the patch notes below.

Graphics/Visuals

  • Fixed an issue which in some instances caused graphical issues for people with certain Anti-Aliasing options and Dynamic Resolution Enabled (PC Only)

Following the v1.16 update, options relating to Anti-Aliasing, DLSS, FSR, and/or Dynamic Resolution may have been reset. Be sure to check the in-game Graphics settings to ensure that these options are to your liking.

  • Added support for XeSS 2, which will be enabled on supporting hardware with an upcoming driver update from Intel (PC Only)

When using compatible hardware, F1® 24 will support higher frame rates and smoother gameplay using XeSS Frame Generation (XeSS-FG) through AI-based frame interpolation. When paired with Xe Low Latency (XeLL), this reduces input delay for a more immersive experience.

  • The visual quality of Ray Traced reflections on the interior of the cockpit has been improved (PS5® Pro Only)
  • Fixed an issue which applied too much engine heat haze when spectating an AI during a replay
  • Added a couple of additional updates to the Las Vegas environment

Miscellaneous

  • Added the Player Hub option to the Main Menu

The Player Hub is where players can check Podium Pass, Store, Friends List, Mail, and Super License. This has been added to the Main Menu screen and will show a yellow notification marker when there’s something new to view. The Player Hub can still be accessed when in other areas of the game, by pressing the corresponding button shown in the top right corner of the screen.

  • Various UI Improvements
