Features That Need to Return From Old College Football Games

College Football 25 may be our Game of the Year, but it’s also a game that is lacking some fan favorite features from the past. One recent video I enjoyed that showcased a couple major ones comes from Spiced Up Gaming.

It might not have all the fan favorites that get brought up here a lot (trophy room among them), but I want to mention one feature in particular, and that is the “assign jersey numbers” screen.

Man, is it hot in here or is it just that UI? I had totally forgotten this screen was a thing at one point in NCAA Football, and even as someone who doesn’t care as deeply about numbers as many other folks on here, this is such a clean screen. If you’ve played around a lot with editing players in College Football 25, you know how much of a pain it is to go player to player and assign all these numbers once they’re on campus.

The menus overall would be an area that I would focus on a lot for ’26. Even if we don’t get an “assign numbers” screen at the start of the year, stuff like a trophy room will only sing if things like the records screen does not reset every time you change from game to yearly to all-time. (Plus, the game has to remember more awards and stats from previous years right now anyway to be fully functional.)

I recommend scoping out the video if you want to see some of the other old features that Spiced would love to see return. One other thing that’s nice about the video is while it highlights a top five of sorts, there’s mentions of other things that aren’t technically on the list, such as the “promise” system and how that would also be a good thing for College Football to bring back for when you’re recruiting players.
