FIFA 18 Ultimate Team: What's New With the Cards in the Mode?

Hello guys and gals. How’s your FIFA?

Wish I could say mine was going well. The game is a little over a month old and I’ve already had to take a break from this game. I’ll get into my impressions in a future post, but let’s talk about the cards for now.

So far, eight Team of the Weeks have been released. I was able to pack Wilfred Zaha from TOTW5 and hoooo baby, he’s so good. 92 pace and 89 dribbling is what dreams are made of.

I have a couple of other TOTWs that I haven’t been able to integrate into teams yet, but I’ve been really enjoying Aaron Mooy from TOTW6 in my 4-3-1-2 Premier League side.

But enough about my club. Let’s look at what EA has done with recent promos:

On Friday, EA Sports released its Path to Glory players. Here’s the description from EA’s website:

Starting November 10, for a limited time, these 25 players contending for a spot on their national team will be available in packs as special Path to Glory items. While each player fights to prove his worth throughout the current season, these items will get automatic upgrades for every Team of the Week, Man of the Match, Hero, European Team of the Tournament or Record Breaker they earn. Time is running out – who will make the final squad?

You can read more about these players in EA’s FAQ here.

The 25 players EA included can be found here. It includes the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Joe Hart and Raphael Varane — guys who are all pretty much expected to make their national team for next summer’s World Cup anyways.

Then there are guys like Marcus Rashford and Tiémoué Bakayoko, who 98 percent of the FUT player base seemingly has on their team. Gabriel Jesus qualifies for this category as well.

Lastly, there’s the completely laughable SBCs (squad building challenges) that came with the Path to Glory like an 80-rated Jermaine Defoe or Emiliano Rigoni, an Argentine playing in the Russian League.

Anyway, this seems like complaining about new content, but I’m not going to gloss over something that lacks creativity or when something just isn’t up to par. When something’s bad, I’m going to call it bad. When something’s good, I’m going to call it good.

So, which of these Path to Glory players are you looking at or have played with? Let us know in the comments below.
