Football Manager 25 Delayed, More Features Removed

Switching to the Unity Engine has been a significant challenge for Sports Interactive, leading the team to announce a short delay for Football Manager 25. Instead of the usual early November release, it will now be pushed to late November. Back in June they mentioned Versus Mode and Create-A-Club would not make it in this year, along with Touchline Shouts and Challenge Mode. Fantasy Draft won’t be available at launch but they plan to release it in a mid-cycle feature update at a later date.

In a most recent update from studio director Miles Jacobson, he mentions International Management will not be a playable mode in FM25, FM25 Console or FM25 touch, but it will be included on FM25 Mobile. He also states a player’s weight will no longer be visible on player profiles.

As you know, it’s been a long-term project for us and one of the biggest things we’ve done in recent times outside of the move to Unity. Throughout the process, we’ve been laser-focused on introducing Women’s Football to FM in the most authentic way possible. We’ve applied that thinking to everything we’ve done, as we generally do with all areas of design and development. From a gameplay perspective, being able to move seamlessly between managing men’s and women’s clubs and vice-versa in one world, one ecosystem was the number one priority – but that’s forced us to consider how various game world aspects are currently portrayed.

Football Manager 2024 is free on the Epic Games Store until September 12 at 11:00 AM.
