Sports Interactive has announced they will delay the release of Football Manager 25 until March 2025. In agreement with SEGA, licensors and partners, the team determined that postponing the launch is the best course of action. Specific platform release dates will be announced once confirmed.
In the September Development Update, Sports Interactive announced the need to delay Football Manager 25’s original release to allow more time for delivering the best possible experience in this new era of Football Manager. Despite the extra time the team has been unable to ensure that the game’s quality and overall experience meet both the players’ expectations and the studio’s high standards.
As previously explained, the development cycle has been particularly challenging, with progress slower than anticipated, even though the team has been working at an incredible pace. The already tight timelines created a situation where the studio was rushing, potentially compromising the quality for which Football Manager is known. Given that FM25 represents the biggest technical and visual advancement in the series in a generation, Sports Interactive is determined not to jeopardize this crucial moment by releasing the game prematurely.
A new gameplay reveal will arrive in January 2025. Fans can read the announcement on the official website.
