How to Get Legend Badges in NBA 2K25?

Badges are always a huge talking point within the NBA 2K community every year, as gamers see which badges will have the most impact on their MyPlayer builds. The Hall of Fame badges are identified by their iconic purple color. But, there’s a new sheriff in town that takes the top spot away from Hall of Fame and that is the inclusion of Legend badges.

These badges feature a red/ruby color and are now the highest-tiered badges in the game. But there has been some slight confusion over how to get Legend badges. With Hall of Fame badges, you usually had to get attributes to 99 — or close at least. And so it makes one wonder, how high does your rating need to be for the Legend one?

Well, it’s quite simple as all you need to do is have an attribute at 99 overall to unlock the opportunity to earn a Legend badge. So obviously that means the Hall of Fame requirements are lower now. But as we just mentioned, you still need to earn your Legend badge with your play.

For example, if you have Defensive Rebounding at 99, you’ll need to make sure you’re out there snagging boards if you want to level up your Rebound Chaser badge from Bronze all the way to Legend, so it’s not really difficult overall. Just do what you love out on the court and watch your badges soar.

It’s important to note that if you bring an attribute to 99 in the MyPlayer Builder, this means it’ll be harder to level up other areas. This is because bringing an attribute to 99 is “expensive” so to speak so you’ll run out of room real quick when it comes to bringing up other attributes.

However, there is a solution but it will take some grinding in The City to get it. There are new REP rewards you can unlock called Cap Breakers. These can be used to help push one of your attributes past their limit. So, for example, if you have a 95 three-point rating, you can use five Cap Breakers to bring it up to 99 and get something like Legend Limitless Range badge.

But as we mentioned, it will take a bit of grinding. First, you need to join an affiliation in The City (either ELITE or RISE). Next, you need to play games around The City (Park, Theater, Rec, etc.) to build up your REP. Your first set of Cap Breakers can be earned at Starter 3. Then there’s two more sets at Veteran 2 and Legend 1, giving you 15 of them in total.

So overall, there’s a couple of ways to get your Legend badges in NBA 2K25. It’s a fun way to add some strategy to the MyPlayer Builder process. Kick things off right away with Legend or grind it out and get some Cap Breakers? Whatever you decide to do, you have some extra options to make your perfect MyPlayer.
