How Much Time Are You Taking Off Work for EA Sports College Football 25?

I truly love that OS has already reached the point of asking the blunt question about how much time you’ll be taking off work when EA Sports College Football 25 comes out.

OS user ODogg posed the question in the forums, and I thought it was especially funny since one article making the rounds in the last couple days was from CNBC about “quiet vacationing” — can we stop making up words/phrases, please? In this case, some are being quiet about it but others are being quite obvious about their plans for July. OS user DangerRyan kicks it off with probably the most popular refrain.

0 time off. I work from home.

Working from home can be a blessing and a curse, but there is no question it’s easier to squeeze in some games of college football when your console is next to your work desk. Whether you’re on the clock or not when you play these games, who’s to say? However, some of us OSers are committed folks, with GoDucks1224 being a fine and upstanding worker.

I thought about it for the 3-day early access but I just decided I’ll buy the standard and wait till the actual release date since it times up with my off days well. Boring answer though lol.

GoDucks gets the added respect since they don’t even want to even be tempted so they’ll just wait for the “official” release of EA Sports College Football 25. Still, some of us just know what we want and that includes OS user TarHeelPhenom:

Game unlocks that Tuesday at 12 midnight, so I’m taking Tuesday-Friday off.

And I mean, yeah, that just feels like the correct answer. And the beauty of the college football game is dynasty mode is arguably still the main draw, so even if the servers are a mess during the first week you’ll still be able to play — you just won’t be able to do an online dynasty quite yet.

But this feels like the “right” answer because it’s still a little wild that the game is coming back at all. OS user Ghost Of The Year sums it up just right to me:

4 days, with vacation days used. But I don’t see this becoming my new normal. Next year I’m sure I’ll just take one day off but this year is something special. Been building up for 11 years. I always thought it would return but honestly I thought we were still at least 5 or 6 years away.

If the college football game continues to stick around, it will become routine even if it’s amazing year in and year out, but this year it is an event. A lot has also changed in the 10+ years since the last release, which means some of us who were kids when it first came out are now adults with “real” jobs. With that in mind, I think OS user Kid OS has my favorite post in the thread.

This is my first time having a job that gives me PTO, and I purposefully have saved most of my days for this game. I’ve been approved to take Tues-The next Monday off. I put my PTO reason as, “Playing an unhealthy amount of video games.” Approved immediately.

Dude, same.

Feel free to add to the topic, just be sure your boss also doesn’t read the thread.
