What Is A Tactical Foul?

A tactical foul, as the name suggests, is giving away a free kick intentionally. This is usually done when your team doesn’t have a lot of players back to defend a counterattack.

It typically involves a fairly innocuous challenge that leads to play being stopped and carries the penalty of a yellow card most of the time.

The Risks Of A Tactical Foul In EA FC

If the opponent’s attack is too promising and your defender committing the tactical foul in EA FC 25 is the last player before the goalkeeper, you might find yourself receiving a red card as it could be the denial of a goal-scoring opportunity.

You’ll need to weigh the risks in the moment while also considering if the opposition has any free-kick takers worth worrying about. After all, it’s all well and good denying an attempt on goal, but if it leads to an opponent’s David Beckham Icon card lining up a free kick on the edge of the box, it might not be worth the risk.

Finally, don’t forget that opponents can take quick free kicks, too. This could undo all of your careful planning, sending them through on goal anyway.
