How to Complete the Last Ride Program in MLB The Show 25

As announced, MLB The Show 25 dropped an all-new program today, celebrating the final seasons of two great players: The Last Ride program.

Last Ride is a series of cards based on a player’s final season in Major League Baseball. The program is a further extension of that, offering two players who had excellent final years in the Bigs. The mid-tier reward for completing half of the Last Ride program is former New York Yankees pitcher Mike Mussina. The final reward is Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz. In terms of overalls, Mussina is rated at an 87, whilst Ortiz is rated as an 88.

I’ll be honest — Mussina could be a decent pitcher at this stage of the game, but your mileage with him may vary depending on the skill of your online opponent. However, David Ortiz is ridiculously good and is a worthy reward for finishing Last Ride. He won’t be of any use in the field, and his speed is a ridiculously low 12. But at the plate, there are fewer hitters more terrifying and clutch than Big Papi himself.

In order to complete Last Ride, you’ll have to complete a total of 6 moments and 4 missions. Luckily for anyone looking to get these cards, the moments are pretty easy, and the missions shouldn’t take long to complete either.

Start with the moments and knock those out of the way. Once you’re done with each of them, you can move on to the missions. All four of them are listed below:

• Tally 10 innings with Yankees players (can be completed in any Diamond Dynasty mode)
• Tally 500 PXP with Last Ride Series pitchers (can be completed in any Diamond Dynasty mode)
• Tally 15 hits with Red Sox players (can be completed in any Diamond Dynasty mode)
• Tally 500 PXP with Last Ride Series hitters (can be completed in any Diamond Dynasty mode)

Once you’ve completed all of the moments in the program, you will have unlocked Mike Mussina, allowing you to double-dip and knock out the missions for both Yankees pitchers and Last Ride Series pitchers simultaneously. In my opinion, you can get these done relatively easily in Conquest mode.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to double-dip for the Red Sox missions as Ortiz is the only Last Ride Series hitter on the team in the game. That said, you can always front-load your lineup with Red Sox hitters and sprinkle in some Last Ride Series cards at the bottom of your lineup.

But where can you get some decent Last Ride hitters? Well, by completing one moment in the Text Rangers’ Team Affinity path, you’ll unlock Last Ride Adrian Beltre, who is always a solid bat, especially against the CPU. The same can be said for Luis Gonzalez of the Marlins, who also only requires one TA moment to unlock.
