How to Create a Team in College Football 25

One of the best features that College Football 25 offers is the ability to fully create a custom team. While the existing schools and players are certainly nothing to scoff at, there’s just something about creating a team from the ground up. You get to pick your players, determine your school’s name, logo, and colors, and make every key decision that affects the team on and off the field.

You do get a similar chance to do this in the Dynasty mode of College Football 25, but that only uses existing schools. You’re able to dominate from the start as a powerhouse like Alabama or begin from scratch with a school like Kennesaw State (go Owls). Creating a custom team allows you to have the same experience, but with a school that comes directly from your imagination.

Below, we’ll walk you through all of the steps to create your own team in College Football 25 and how to get it all set up in-game.

Using Team Builder In College Football 25

Unlike many of the other features in College Football 25, creating a custom team requires leaving the game application. In fact, you must ensure that the game is completely closed on your console before proceeding; otherwise, the team creation won’t go through.

To create your team, you must use the Team Builder website dedicated to this feature in CFB 25. When you go to the Team Builder website link, click “Get Started” to begin the process. From here, sign in to the EA account linked with your PlayStation or Xbox account that owns CFB 25. If you use a different account, your team won’t be connected to your game copy.

Once signed into EA, you’ll be directed to the official Team Builder landing page. On this page, either click “Create” to make your custom team or choose from various exciting teams that other players in the community have created. For example, the most popular team on the Team Builder website is called the “Pandas,” created by NotTheExpertYT. If you import an existing custom team, you can preview it and see its logo, players, uniforms, etc.

However, if you want to take things into your own hands, you can click the white “Create” button to start building your custom team in CFB 25. As a note, the Team Builder website is notoriously buggy and often doesn’t work for players, giving them an infinite load screen. If this happens to you, try switching browsers or disabling any ad-blocker, as those fixes have worked best.

After clicking “Create,” you can design your school’s name, logo, and mascot. You can use a logo from a set of default options, but this is quite limited. You can import a custom logo using a .png file image to get more creative. Of course, the image you import does need to match certain specifications in terms of size, so it can be tricky trying to get a custom logo to fit. At the very least, you can use one of the default logos. However, you can’t customize that logo, as there is no editor.

Once you’ve chosen your logo, select your school’s lettering, number fonts, and logo colors. You can choose a primary, secondary, and tertiary color by opening a color wheel. You can also select the clothing brand for your uniforms, and all of the options you’d expect are there (e.g., Adidas, Nike, Under Armor).

After you’ve set your logo design, look on the left side of the page to determine your school’s name and location. You can also select a nickname and an abbreviation for your school.

With all of that set up, move on to the “Brand” section of Team Builder, where you can design your team’s helmets. There are various options here, including the helmet’s color, finish, and design.

Once the helmet is done, scroll to the “Uniforms” section and start designing your team’s uniforms. Again, you have many options here, and you can go all out with how you want the uniforms to look. The colors available are based on the colors you chose on the first page of the Team Builder. You can customize the jersey and pants of the uniform here.

After the uniforms, move to the “Stadium Design” tab. Here, you can customize everything from the color of the field to the sidelines’ appearance to the pattern of the endzone.

Now, with all of the aesthetics out of the way, the final tab in Team Builder is where you can choose your “Program,” or the players and playbook for your team. You can pick and design both your offensive and defensive playbooks and your entire roster. You can choose the rating for all of your players, what position everyone plays, and their stats. There’s also a preset option for your roster if you don’t want to customize every player individually.

Finally, after your players and playbooks are set and you like how your team design came out, press the “Save” and “Submit” buttons at the top of the page. Now, your team is saved to your CFB 25 account, and when you re-open the game application on your console, you can head into the Dynasty mode and choose to import your custom team. You can hang with the big boys now and see how your team stacks up to the college football giants.
