How To Get Default Camera Gameplay in EA Sports College Football 25, Explained

Here's how to adjust the camera settings in College Football 25 to your liking.

If you’re a veteran in Madden or even previous College Football games, your first match of College Football 25 was likely a shock to your senses. The opening play in College Football 25 puts your camera angle at a position that’s not considered the norm in other football games. It’s up close to your players and makes you see the field from a near first-person perspective.

While some players have grown to enjoy that camera angle, other fans want their default camera back. Fortunately, College Football 25 offers the ability to change your camera angle between a few different options. However, you might not even know you have the option to do that since there’s nothing about it in the game settings.

Today, we’ll finally get you back to your home and native camera angle in College Football 25.

While the game doesn’t tell you how to change your camera angles or that there are even other options, it’s not a complicated process. There are different camera angles depending on what game mode you’re playing, though.

In Road to Glory, there are only three camera angles you can swap back and forth between. This differs from any other mode in College Football 25 where there are a couple more angles to choose from.

In any case, you can change your camera angle regardless of what game mode you’re playing by following these steps:

  • When you’re lined up on offense before the play begins, press “Down” on your D-Pad
  • This works the same for both PlayStation and Xbox controllers
  • By pressing “Down” once, you go to the next available camera angle, which slightly zooms out your camera or alters it in some way
  • Keep pressing “Down” to cycle through all the different angles
  • If you press “Down” but nothing happens, then you’ve reached the maximum amount of camera angles
  • You can recycle through the angles by pressing “Up” on the D-Pad, which zooms your camera back in
  • After pressing “Up” enough times, you’ll go back to the original close-up camera angle in College Football 25
  • Keep cycling through the camera angles by pressing the D-Pad to find the one you prefer and then leave it there

An important distinction to make when trying to change your camera angle is you might need to ensure the ability to toggle the angle is enabled. To do this, use the L1/LB and R1/RB buttons to swap between the Visual Feedback tabs. Here, you’ll eventually see a tab for “Camera,” which you need to select and then make sure the toggle is turned on. If it’s off, you won’t be able to swap between camera angles using the D-Pad.

Different Camera Angles In College Football 25

Road to Glory in College Football 25 only features three camera angles: close-up, mid-range, and zoomed out. Madden players and most other fans will likely prefer the mid-range angle, as it allows you to see the entire play but still feel like you’re in the action. However, I have seen some fans adopt the close-up angle as their new favorite. It’s almost like you’re playing in VR and getting to do a spin move yourself, which can be either satisfying or make you motion sick.

If you’re playing as a specific position in Road to Glory, such as wide receiver, you can still change your camera angle. Before the snap, just press up or down on the D-Pad and you’ll be able to swap between all the available angles. Most players who are playing a skill position have seemed to prefer to close-up angle, as it allows you to be more precise with your routes and moves.

On the flip side of College Football 25, if you swap to any online mode or head-to-head, you’re able to swap between a couple of new camera angles. The most notable one is the broadcast angle, which allows you to see the field like you do when watching a real game on TV. The broadcast angle shows you the view from above the sideline. This one might seem familiar since you likely see it on TV all the time, but it takes a lot of getting used to in actual gameplay. Running routes or looking for receivers when they’re going horizontally instead of vertically isn’t something most of our minds are trained to do.

Aside from the broadcast angle, most of the other angles in modes aside from Road to Glory will be familiar to you in some way. There’s no right or wrong camera angle in College Football 25, so pick the one you like and get rolling.
