One of the best parts about having college football back is that EA Sports College Football 25 has injected a massive amount of freshness and creativity into the playbooks.
However, with so many playbooks, it’s nice to have a spot online where you can look at them all, and CFB.FAN is the spot to do that. Much like this setup was a valuable resource for Madden, the same is now in place for the playbooks in EA Sports College Football 25.
And since there are so many more teams in College Football 25, it means the range of playbooks is much wider. So you can select any of the playbooks in the game and just look through the formations and plays, or you can use the Playbook Finder to look for specific formations and then which playbooks those formations are in after you click the “add formation” button.
The same is true for defense, so you can cover both sides of the ball on this site. Another thing I would mention is that right now some of the play art isn’t showing up for some plays, but I assume that will be improved over the coming days. In addition, be aware that when you click on a formation you can scroll to the bottom and see what other playbooks that formation is in (just in case you don’t want to use the Playbook Finder). So if you’re looking at Auburn’s playbook and like Shotgun Split Slot Offset, just scroll to the bottom of the page and you’ll see all the other playbooks where it exists.
Of course, this will also be helpful for custom playbooks as you’ll be able to more freely mix and match from various other looks you like. As far as recommendations for playbooks, we’ll probably do something a little deeper on that at some point, but it’s really going to come down to what you prefer to do on offense, which is cool. I don’t think there’s going to be just one “meta” playbook because it really does feel like you can attack in a variety of ways in this game. But if you’re looking for suggestions, let me throw out Air Force, Oregon, and San Diego St. to get you started (and look for the Wide formations as they’re generally diabolical so far).
