Your MyPlayer’s attribute points are incredibly important to any playthrough of MyCareer in PGA Tour 2K25. These attribute points determine what type of golfer your player is, along with your chosen archetype. As you progress through MyCareer, you’ll unlock more and more points that can be allocated to different attributes. Of course, these points are spent through VC, which you can earn, but VC also costs hard cash in PGA Tour 2K25.
This makes most players weary of trying to fool around with the attribute points in 2K25, as they don’t want to waste the points they’ve earned, regardless of how they did it. However, MyCareer offers a full respec system that allows you to completely swap around your attributes for a one-time cost. This gives you the chance to reallocate your already-spent points to change your player’s attributes.
To see how the respec attribute system works in PGA Tour 2K25, keep reading the guide below.
How The Respec Attributes System Works In PGA Tour 2K25

Let’s start by going over how to respec in the first place. After you have spent some attribute points through your “Available AP” inventory, you can choose to claw back some of your choices. This moves those clawed back points from Available AP to “Owned AP.” Since you already spent the VC to allocate the points, you don’t need to respend the VC to allocate the points again.
Instead, you can respec them from the Owned AP inventory. Your Owned AP inventory shows you how many points you can currently spend without using any additional VC. You can take back attribute points by moving your joystick in the opposite direction on whatever attribute meter you want to take points away from. When you have Owned AP, you’ll see an option on the bottom-left side of the screen that says “Respec Attributes.”
Selecting this option for the first time makes a prompt appear that makes you spend 500 VC to reallocate all of your already spent attribute points. However, this is a one-time fee that you don’t have to spend again if you want to respec in the future. Paying the 500 VC just gives you the right to respec whenever you want in MyCareer.
However, when you respec your attribute points and they’re moved into the Owned AP inventory, you have to spend them for that specific character. You can’t transfer the points to another character on a different save file.
After choosing to respec your attribute points and spending the 500 VC for the first time, you can choose to claw back any spent points whenever you want. Those are moved into Owned AP, and you’re able to spend them again in any attribute without spending any additional VC. Of course, you’ll still have to earn VC to acquire more attribute points for the future. The respec system simply allows you to test out different builds with your chosen Archetype and player.
What Happens When You Respec In PGA Tour 2K25?
If you need some additional clarification on the respec system, don’t worry, as it can get a little complicated.
When you initially spend 500 VC to respec, you’ll see your Owned AP inventory filled up with attribute points. While this gives you points to spend, it also brings your golfer down to the base 65 OVR from whatever OVR you were before respeccing.

This can be a frightening sight at first, as if you had a high OVR golfer, you’re now back down where you started. However, just because you chose to respec, doesn’t mean you lose your OVR rating. All it means is that you have to reallocate your new points to reach your prior OVR. When you reallocate all of the points you respecced, your golfer will be at the same OVR they were before you pressed respec.
So, if you don’t count the initial 500 VC it costs to respec, you’re essentially losing nothing when you respec attribute points in MyCareer. All you’re doing is losing the build you originally had, but if you remember where you put your points, you can always return to that same build.
The respec system is best used to try out differently allocated stats to see if you like them or not. If you do, then keep going on that trajectory with your future points. However, if you don’t like the stats, then respec again and try out a different build.
That’s all we have on the respec system in PGA Tour 2K25 and how you can use it to reallocate your attribute points in MyCareer. If you want to go deeper into attributes and Archetypes in MyCareer, we have a more in-depth guide on how everything works.
