It Came From the Forums: What's EA's Best UFC Game So Far?

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

We’re still waiting on news for EA Sports UFC 4. In fact, the most recent news we have is of a developer leaving the EA UFC team. So it’s fair to say we’re starved for some game details. With that in mind, there’s a fresh thread on OS where user foe87 is asking what people think is the best EA UFC game so far. He asks about 1, 2 and 3 since he hasn’t played a UFC game since UFC Undisputed.

The majority opinion so far seems to be UFC 3 if you’re into realism and best overall game, but UFC 2 if you just want to have a good time. UFC 2 has a superior knockout system and physics on those knockouts, which is where a lot of the “fun” portion comes from with that comment. It was also just a simpler game so it’s easier to get into from a controls standpoint.

UFC 3, on the other hand, did take some time to get to where it is today (like, well over a year) but still has a strong base of online fans even today. You can still easily find online matches, and it’s the more balanced game overall. In UFC 3, You can still just throw punches and combos while treating it more like a boxing game (like UFC 2), but you can also focus more on grapples and submissions if you want to go down that road.

Regardless of which game you prefer, all three are “free” if you have EA Access. So if you’re hankering for some UFC action, don’t forget that path is open for you. It’s also very easy to find the games for cheap online if you don’t want to subscribe to EA Access.

Also, don’t forget to head by the thread and give your own take on 1, 2 or 3 if you have it. Maybe you’ll be the first one to say the original EA Sports UFC is the best game.
