Announced a couple of weeks ago, the documentary explores the untold story of Madden NFL, charting its journey from 8-bit origins to its status as a must-have annual release. Featuring unseen footage from EA Sports’ archives, it also offers a behind-the-scenes look at the team shaping the game’s next generation.

Season 1 kicks off today with episodes 1 through 4, each running close to an hour in length, offering plenty of in-depth content to dive into right away.

S1 E1 – CAN A COMPUTER MAKE YOU CRY?

The makers of Madden NFL are deep in development of the newest version of the world’s most famous football video game – Madden NFL 25. With a devoted but demanding fan base, the team members know they have their work cut out for them. Their goal: to make an authentic and innovative experience that will honor the vision of the game’s founders – Trip Hawkins and John Madden.

S1 E2 – PRESSURE MAKES DIAMONDS

In the early 1990s, EA is the envy of the video game world, but in order to stay on top, Trip Hawkins & company must elevate their game. In 1992, they kickstart the annual Madden series to great fanfare. But soon, cracks begin to show. In 1996, Madden NFL cancels the release of the PlayStation version. And suddenly, for the first time, Madden finds itself in second.

S1 E3 – EVERYTHING’S FINE AND WE’RE SHIPPING ON TIME

As EA Sports deals with blowback from the Madden ’96 mishap, competitors seize the opportunity. But the Madden team has an ace up its sleeve, and they ready their most potent weapon yet…
