Kerry Wood to Be Featured in Headliner 6 Pack in MLB The Show 25

I don’t know about any of you, but I will always have an affinity for Kerry Wood in MLB The Show. Last year, I earned his Finest card through Team Affinity. And when I say that he was one of the most effective starters in the entire game, I mean effective. Not only was Wood reliable and consistent every time he was on the bump for me, but he pitched the first-ever perfect game I had ever thrown in Ranked.

Needless to say, every time a new Kerry Wood card drops in Diamond Dynasty, you can bet your bottom dollar that I’m gonna get him and immediately insert him into my rotation. So, one could only imagine my excitement when it was announced today that Wood will be receiving a new card this afternoon.

As part of its weekly Headliners pack content, MLB The Show 25 will be granting Diamond Dynasty players access to an 87-rated Wood in Headliners 6. On one hand, I’m quite frustrated that this card is being locked away behind a pack with no guaranteed way of earning it for no-money-spent players such as myself. On the other hand, Headliners cards have been pretty affordable this year, with the most expensive being David Robertson due to the shortage of effective bullpen arms. And even he can be bought for less than 10k Stubs right now. It’s also hard to complain about the content this year in Diamond Dynasty, which has been mostly quality.

If I had to guess, Wood will be pricey for the first two days or so, then tank over the weekend, which has been the case for most Headliners cards. So if you’re lucky enough to pack him once Headliners Pack 6 drops, flip him for a profit, then buy him off the market in a few days.

Headliners Pack 6 drops at noon (PST) / 3 PM (EST) this afternoon. Here’s hoping luck is in your favor!
