As promised, EA Sports revealed their Madden NFL 23 covers today featuring the late, great John Madden. The very first Madden was released on this very day back in 1988.
There will be three unique Madden NFL 23 covers that each celebrate a different aspect of Coach Madden’s life. Chuck Styles, a popular artist in sports culture, created artwork for the Madden NFL 23 All Madden Edition to honor Coach as a video game icon who helped spread NFL football among gamers.
Additional key art honors his lengthy career as a legendary NFL broadcaster known for bringing the “BOOM,” as well as his status as one of the game’s most beloved and respected coaches.
When Madden NFL 23 launches later this summer, the first interactive experience will feature two versions of Coach Madden leading opposing teams of “All Madden” athletes facing off in the 1970s Oakland Coliseum. In addition, the unforgettable voice of Coach Madden returns during the game in remastered audio clips that callback to his legendary days as a broadcaster.
Earlier this year, Electronic Arts announced a $5 million John Madden Legacy Commitment to Education in honor Coach Madden. Read more about it in the official blog.
