Maximum Football Update Addresses Gameplay, Adds New Animations and Customization Features

A new Maximum Football update is available today, bringing fixes for various gameplay issues, along with new animations, enhanced customization features and more. If you didn’t already know, Maximum Football is free-to-play on Steam Early Access and will launch on Xbox Game Preview on December 10.

Today’s update adds new tackle and broken tackle animations, along with the ability to clone home and away uniforms. It also features UI enhancements in MPL, improved matchmaking and multiplayer functionality and the option to enable or disable the catch chance meter. Gameplay
  • Fixed a bug that caused players to lose control
  • Fixed animations for injured players
  • Fixed a number of calculation errors for zone defenders that resulted in them misassessing the threat level of a scrambling quarterback
  • Eliminated a bug which caused the ball to maintain velocity after a fumble, sending it flying across the field
  • Improved player positioning when using manual catch and swat
  • Adjusted the field of view for zoom out so that WR and CB on the extreme right and left are seen
  • Added a number of new tackle and broken tackle animations
  • Adjusted pull blocking run plays on gun solo and doubles formation
  • Fixed the handling of various special teams situations including tackling the punter in their own endzone resulting in a safety and tackling a punter after a blocked punt now resulting in a change of possession
  • Kicking team picking up a fumble will now correctly attempt to take it to the endzone
  • Added a fair catch notification to the top of the screen when calling for it on a punt
  • AI no longer repositions players on special teams plays
  • Fixed a bug where a pass thrown out of bounds and caught would sometimes result in moving the line of scrimmage
  • Fixed AI playcalling during overtime so that a team will never punt or attempt a field goal if it would result in a loss
  • Fixed the dive drill so that it can now be completed
UI
  • Added an on-screen indicator if the player is controlling a player off-screen
  • Leave match penalties pop-up added
  • Added number of unopened packs on the Build Your Team button in MPL main menu
  • Added an option in the gameplay settings to enable/disable the catch chance widget
  • Fixed starter stadiums for original teams
  • Added socks and sock patterns to the store
  • Added new loading screens
Dynasty
  • Implemented new scaling for stadium upkeep
  • Adjusted info box colors in yearly awards
MPL
  • Fixes to sportsmanship widget
  • Added win/loss reward values on ranked button
  • Fixed an issue where the client would send the wrong playbook to the host
  • Decreased connection’s initial timeout to 60 seconds (from 120 seconds)
Audio
  • Menu music now plays after leaving MPL match.
  • Made adjustments to both the booth commentary and stadium announcer.
  • Made adjustments to in-game marching band audio
Miscellaneous
  • Referee at the coin toss now wears pants instead of shorts
  • Stadium entry cinematics updated
  • Added the ability to duplicate uniforms between home and away.
