Maximum Football Xbox Game Preview Available Today - Patch Notes Included

Maximum Football is now playable for free on Xbox Series X|S through Xbox Game Preview. Already free-to-play on Steam Early Access, console players can join the action today, complete with the day-one patch and Season One content.

Xbox Game Preview allows fans to explore and purchase in-progress digital titles, actively participate in their development and contribute to making Xbox games the best they can be.

Here are the modes available to play now with more coming in future updates including franchise mode.

  • Exhibition Mode: Take the field against the CPU.
  • College Dynasty: Serve as a coach and AD as you lead your program to glory.
  • Maximum Pro League: Build your team and compete online.
  • The Maximum Football Customization Suite: Create a team, player and edit every aspect of your team.

If you’ve been playing on Steam Early Access, the team has added play-action passes, the ability to flip plays on offense, defense and special Teams. They also improved the contact window for dive tackle animations and much more. Check out the full patch notes below.

General

  • Added new Season One: Gridiron Glory Season Pass content
  • Fixed the Dive Drill making it possible to complete.
  • Added more words to the profanity whitelist to fix an issue where the filter was improperly deeming words inappropriate
  • Fixed a bug where playclock wouldn’t resume after selecting the same play
  • Made adjustment to pyro and smoke effects

Gameplay

  • Added new situational plays: QB Spike, QB Kneel, and Onside Kick
  • Added new playaction passes
  • Added the ability to flip plays on offense, defense, and special teams
  • Set spin direction back on the left thumbstick
  • Tackling the holder on PATs will end the play
  • Added a temporary fix to diving defenders phasing through ball carriers. The window for the animation to trigger contact with the ball carrier has been extended. This will result in some odd animations while we implement a permanent fix
  • Made adjustments to defensive backs catch in traffic abilities to limit the number of tip-drill interceptions
  • Modified arm movement on tackle side push animations
  • Added mid air collision sync animations
  • Fixed logic for a number of situations following conversion plays
  • Added spin broken tackle animations
  • Added side broken tackle animations
  • Updated WR route running logic to adjust avoidance behavior and make them more aggressively attack the ball

Dynasty

  • Made adjustments to recruiting difficulty to make it more challenging
  • Increased recruiting prestige costs

Maximum Pro League

  • Updated notifications for when users quit.
  • Updated UI in MPL to make it easier to see your depth chart
  • Added a temporary fix for the softlock that occurs on kickoffs. The game will now force launch the ball after a set amount of frames if the kick-off does not work
  • Match history should now show custom logos.
  • Added a pre-game pop up to warn you if you are entering ranked play with an underpowered team
  • Renamed the inspect function on cards to upgrade

UI

  • Fixed displayed controls for block shedding
  • Limited camera height in replay
  • Fixed button prompts for certain actions in the replay menu.
  • Player spotlight cutscenes now show proper player data
  • Users can now skip the halftime report via gamepad
  • Added a filter option to roster customization menu
  • Method added to recover passwords for PlayFab accounts
  • Weekly and seasonal challenge tabs will now update when there is a reward to claim
  • Added a loading stats ticker
