SDS hosted another MLB The Show 23 Feature Premiere today and provided details on Road to the Show and the new face scan feature. It was a very short stream and also one of the most disappointing.
Here’s what’s new in Road to the Show along with some screenshots we captured.
- The Ballplayer hub has been updated making it easier to navigate.
- They removed the large Dynamic Challenge screen wipes, text and UI that took over the screen. Dynamic Challenge 2.0 is basically an improved UI.
- On the field training has returned. You can only increase attributes in training with no penalty if you suck.
- There is a new draft cut scene showing your ballplayer and the team that drafted you in the background.
- New segments with Robert Flores, Jake Peavy and Carlos Pena from the MLB Network are included.
The new face scan feature and all of your game data can be shared across all platforms. You just need to log into the companion app and the game with the same account or link all of your accounts to your MLB The Show account. The update for the companion app will be released at launch.
The bat sounds were not final in the Tech Test, but the final bat sounds are terrific.
