MLB The Show 25 will launch on current generation consoles and Nintendo Switch in March, but won’t be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC. It also won’t be included with Game Pass. We covered all of this earlier today, including the official cover athletes, but we wanted to point out some of the finer details shared in the FAQ, blog posts and from the community as well.
After being included with Game Pass for four consecutive years on Day One, MLB The Show 25 will not be included this year, as confirmed by the PS Blog: “The game will not be on platform subscription services in 2025.”
While it’s great to see MLB The Show 25 coming to current consoles, it’s a bit surprising that it’s also launching on the Nintendo Switch, considering its older hardware. The FAQ notes that full cross-play and cross-saves will be supported on the Switch, which raises some concerns. If a Nintendo Switch 2 were confirmed, it would ease those worries a bit, but here we are…
The FAQ also confirms that there will be no physical Collector’s Edition this year, no pre-launch technical test and no year-to-year saves. It does confirm that Stadium Creator will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, custom stadiums and logos from MLB The Show 24 uploaded to the Vaults will be available when MLB The Show 25 launches.
Archie56 posted the official PlayStation Store page for the game with a few little nuggets as well.
