MLB The Show Diamond Dynasty 19: Ichiro Signature Series Incoming

As if we needed more insane outfielders in Diamond Dynasty, we’re getting a Signature Series Ichiro on Wednesday.

Is there any question it will be a 99 overall? It will also most likely have CF eligibility. If you’ve played Show this year, I don’t need to tell you how good the 93 overall Hardware Ichiro is in the game, so I suspect this card is going to be in a lot of end-game lineups. He is going to have 95+ speed, to go with a cannon for an arm, amazing clutch, great contact and great vision.

In short, he’s probably going to be the hardest card to strike out and avoid dealing with on the bases in the game. The one question is how high will they put his power? Either way, even if it stays in the 30s and 40s with his power, it doesn’t really change how dangerous this card will be.

I do wonder how you will be able to get this card as well. It strikes me as a card that becomes a Battle Royale 12-0 reward, but we will have to wait and see on that one.

Bottom line, this is a good and bad thing overall. The 93 Hardware Ichiro is really all you will ever need — and I’m sure some people have thousands of at bats with that card — but I love Ichiro and this part of the year is about insanely good cards in Diamond Dynasty. The amount of 99s in the mode is already out of control, so why not add in a fan favorite and absolute terror? You can’t really bust the meta or the game mode further at this juncture so at least have some fun with it and give some good stuff to the fans.
