Motorsport Games Suspends IndyCar Game Development

Motorsports Games announced they will suspend development on their IndyCar game. The game was Initially planned to release sometime this year, then delayed until 2024.

“Additional cost-saving measures have included the recent closure of our Australian development studio, with corresponding global headcount reductions, and the suspension of the development of our previously planned IndyCar game, to decrease operating expenses whilst also removing projects that are underperforming or are unlikely to generate revenue.” -via Motorsportweek

TOCA decided to end its video game licensing agreement with Motorsport Games for the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) game earlier this week. Motorsports Games recently layed off 40 percent of its staff mainly affecting staff in the United Kingdom.

iRacing acquired the NASCAR Team Properties’ exclusive simulation-style console racing games license from Motorsport Games last month. The team announced it will begin developing a NASCAR console game expected to release in 2025.
