NBA 2K League Expansion Draft Starts Today at 3:00 PM ET

The NBA 2K League Expansion draft starts today at 3:00 PM ET on the official Twitch channel, as DUX Gaming drafts their team from the eligible player pool.

DUX Gaming is based in Mexico, marking them the first NBA 2K League team in Latin America. The team will join the league in the spring of 2022 as the 24th team.

The expansion draft will consist of two rounds with DUX Gaming selecting two players from the eligible player pool. DUX Gaming will have the option to select a third player by forfeiting their third-round draft pick in the 2022 NBA 2K League Draft. The eligible player pool is comprised of players who competed for one
of the 23 NBA 2K League teams that participated in the 2021 season but who were not protected by their team. Check the official site for more details.

Players To Watch

  • Mario “avemario” Ortega Ariza became the first-ever NBA 2K League player from Spain when Cavs Legion GC drafted him 41st overall in the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft. Prior to the 2021 season, avemario was a member of DUX Gaming’s NBA 2K team on the European Pro-Am circuit and played alongside Rafael “RafaelTGR” Tobias Garcera Rodrigo, who was recently announced as the general manager of DUX Gaming’s NBA 2K League team.
  • Selected 10th overall in the inaugural NBA 2K League Draft by Bucks Gaming, talented shooting guard/small forward Aaron “Arooks” Rookwood from Mount Vernon, NY has been a mainstay in the league. After being honored as All-NBA 2K League First Team in 2019, Rookwood took his talents to 76ers GC during the 2021 season where he averaged 14.7 points and 1.7 assists in the regular season.
  • Small forward and 2020 NBA 2K League Defensive Player of the Year Eric “TimelyCook” Donald has been a defensive juggernaut for Raptors Uprising GC the past two seasons and helped lead the team to a historic 16-0 undefeated 2020 regular season. During the 2021 regular season, Donald averaged 8.1 points and 1.5 steals per game.
