NBA 2K24: How to Do the Triple Threat Spin

If there’s one big thing many players hope for when firing up NBA 2K24 or any 2K is that they continue to get better, especially in MyCareer, Park, and Rec. And there’s a powerful move that doesn’t require you to dribble at all.

And this move is great because it can work for any build, whether you have a ball handle rating at 90 or at 40. However, it does require you to receive passes, so you may not really get a chance to do this move in one-on-one games besides during the check ball phases.

But this move is called the triple threat spin out. It’s easily one of the best moves in the game as it’s quick and can catch defenders off guard. It’s especially popular when in the corners, which will allow you to then run along the baseline and do a reverse layup or dunk.

As mentioned, you can only pull this off after receiving a pass as you can’t be dribbling to do it. But doing it is very simple as it’s the same as if you were doing a normal spin. All you need to do is rotate the right analog stick either clockwise or counterclockwise to do the triple threat spin out.

It’s tough to practice it solo so make sure to head to the Team Practice Gym where you can receive passes at will to go and continuously attempt the spin out. I say this if you’re playing in MyCareer. You can also simply head into Freestyle mode in Play Now and practice it there too.

Spins are already pretty effective and the triple threat spin out is arguably even more dangerous. And that’s because of the speed and unexpectedness of it. When you’re stationary holding the ball, sometimes opponents don’t expect such a swift move like that.

And as mentioned, this is great if your MyPlayer doesn’t focus on ball handling. You can have a guard or a big and still make this move work at an equally effective rate. I’ve used it a few times with my center build that has a 60 ball handle rating (and have also been victim to it). It’s kind of like a post move but you’re likely out on the perimeter.

Overall, this is a move anyone should add to their bag. It’s not unstoppable of course but it’s one of those underrated abilities that can cook defenders in NBA 2K24 who are expecting a dribble or pass. And if you are a dribbler with plenty of moves in your bag already, this can be your cherry on the cake.
