NBA 2K24: How to Get Mamba Mentality on Last-Gen Consoles

NBA 2K24 on last-gen consoles (PS4, Xbox One, PC) has kept some of the classic methods to do certain things in the game compared to current gen (PS5 and Xbox Series X), which saw some changes. The thing that’s present in both versions of the game are Takeovers but each one operates differently.

On old gen, you have the two Takeovers like in previous games. On current gen, you can pull up a small menu and choose which area of your game you want Takeover activated on. But one of the classic things that last gen has is Mamba Mentality, which is also in current gen, but last gen utilizes it the old-school way.

When you unlock Mamba Mentality, it gives you the power to swap out your Takeovers, both your primary and secondary ones. It’s something that always a lot of fun to have as you can make Takeover adjustments anytime you want. And if you double down with the same Takeover for the primary and secondary one, you’ll receive a major boost with that Takeover.

So how do you unlock Mamba Mentality on PS4, Xbox One and PC? Well, it’s actually very simple. You just have to play two games. Not just any games, but Virtual Rival games. These take place in your MyCourt where you’ll battle it out against NBA legends like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Larry Bird among others. Pretty cool.

Just make sure to agree to the Virtual Rivals quest to officially kick things off. Then, off you go. After you win both games, you should unlock Mamba Mentality immediately after talking to the NPC to complete the quest. Now with that done, you have the power of swapping out Takeovers at will and doubling down on one that you really like.
