NBA 2K24 brought in a new feature that changed the way we look at animations in the series. This feature is called ProPlay and it’s 2K taking the real life movements of NBA players during their games and then turning them into animations for NBA 2K. Because of this, they were able to add a lot of new animations for MyPlayers to choose from.
Now in NBA 2K25, they took an extra step and added a whole new shot type. These are called Go-To Shots. It’s basically a dribble move and jump shot all in one. It’s not something you see in The City much (at least from my experience) but it’s fun to do and can be great for your MyCareer grind.
But you start with a dribble move and then you raise up for a jumper after the dribble is done. It can definitely make defenders stumble and leave you open when it’s time to rise for the shot. There are several go-to shot types you can get based on what your attributes are.
Whether it’s Kevin Durant, Luka Doncic, or Nikola Jokic, all of the NBA’s biggest stars have their own go-to shots in NBA 2K25. But how do you go about doing one of these shots? Well, it’s really simple and there’s two ways to pull them off.
One is the “official” way so to speak and that’s by holding up on the right analog stick and then holding down on it at the right time to get the excellent release on the jumper. It’s basically like how the Rhythm Shooting works except it’s up then down on the stick instead of down then up.
The “easier” way to do go-to shots is by simply holding up on the right analog stick and then letting go at the right time to get the green release. But try both methods and see which is one is best for you or perhaps, switch up between the two methods if you so wish.
