NHL 20 HUT: Team of the Week Patrick Kane

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

I hate to toe the party line, but the official EA NHL Twitter feed does point out the top three guys worth scoping out in this week’s Team of the Week update. They are also the players I will focus on in my write up.

Patrick Kane, Auston Matthews and Brad Marchand are the clear winners this week. However, it’s worth noting that Matthews and Marchand already had TOTW cards, so really it’s Patrick Kane who wins out here.

There’s not much to hate here on an 88 overall card. You might like to see shot power over 90, but strength at 79 is the only real bummer here for the card. HUT already has a juiced Toews card, so now Kane joins the fray as the 1-2 punch for the Blackhawks.

Next up is the cover athlete Auston Matthews. It’s another card with not many weaknesses to be found. It’s basically if you take the Patrick Kane card and made him strong and a center. He’s a top-line player and this card fits into that mold.

Next up is Brad Marchand. Again, this is his second Team of the Week card and is an upgrade over that one to a 90 overall now. I prefer to use taller players in HUT so this card by default isn’t for me. However, it’s got great sniping numbers and has some body checking to go along with the obvious two-way abilities.

The last card I will call out here is Artemi Panarin. Comparing him to the Patrick Kane from this week, it’s got a little bit of a speed boost over Kane, but otherwise it’s a slightly worse version of Kane — albeit at LW rather than Kane’s RW. Not all 88 overalls are the same, and so that’s why looking at some of the stats always helps here to try and find what you’re looking for on your team.
