NHL 24 Gameplay Changes Coming in Day One Patch

The NHL 24 development team revealed some of the gameplay changes coming in a Day One patch based on community playtest feedback. The team previously announced they will be adding Hybrid Controls as an additional option, alongside of Skill Stick and the new Total Control scheme. They will also add the option to use the new Goalie Tether control scheme or the standard Goalie Control system from NHL 23.

More gameplay updates are scheduled to arrive on October 3 as a Day One patch including tuning to the sustained pressure system and goalie fatigue system. They also detailed some of the changes for physics based contact, along with tuning for the lacrosse deke, human goalies and the poke check.

NHL 24 is scheduled to release on October 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For those that pre-order the X-Factor Edition, it arrives three days earlier on October 3. EA Play members can get early access with the NHL 24 trial on October 3, along with member-only rewards throughout the season.
