“For a goalkeeper, there is no hiding place” – Brad Friedel

Brad Friedel and his 600-plus career first team caps are absolutely right. The keepers between the posts are a spectator for a large portion of the match, but when their name is called there’s no more important player on the pitch. In eFootball PES 2020, a quality keeper can be the difference between gaining or missing out on three points. Keepers have come a long way in both real life and PES over the years.

The niche aspects of these sports games is part of why I love the Operation Sports community. Over on our NHL 20 forums, there’s a discussion right now about playing goalie in the game this year. The discussion has been going on-and-off for about a month, but it just reminds me of my own experiences playing goalie in NHL OTP. There is nothing quite as brutal and rewarding in all of online team play than playing goalie in an NHL game.
We have an opportunity to interview the producers of AO Tennis 2, prior to the release on January 9, 2020 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

When submitting a question, please be as specific and detailed as possible. Once we gather all of the answers, we will post the full interview.

We should be getting news on EA Sports UFC 4 at some point in the not too distant future since we’re getting closer to two years since UFC 3 launched. In our forums, there’s been a lively discussion about making reach more important in the next game.

There’s a general consensus that more emphasis should be placed on reach, and how impactful it can be when you’re using length and getting full extension on punches. The nuance is of course there as well as folks have talked about who should be able to use their wingspan better and how that should work. In addition, OS members have been talking about shorter fighters having greater power on hooks and uppercuts.

Now that NHL 20 has been out for a couple of months, I have noticed some odd and frustrating things here and there. These oddities, while some new and some very old, drag down the gaming experience. I would deem these things as pet peeves. We could certainly talk about the overall AI or misgivings with some of the modes, but that’s too grand in scope in this case. Instead, what I want to talk about are smaller things that irritate me game to game.
What’s the number one thing you want from next-gen sports games?

If there is anything else you would like to see in the OS weekly wrap-up, feel free to let us know in this post. Otherwise, enjoy getting caught up and we will see you next weekend.
